I don't claim the slightest shred of expertise in this area, but the article does sound like it was edited by an overenthusiastic KMT supporter... --chainedwind

There is a statement claiming that Krugman attributes the GDP growth in Taiwan to increase in capital and labor market, rather than increase in efficiency. The citation for this statement is an article by Krugman called "Myth of the Asian Miracle" or something to that effect. However, if you read into the article, there is no mention of Taiwan. The article does talk about Singapore, China, Japan, and East Asia in general terms, but how can such a general article be used to support very particular claim about Taiwan allegedly by Krugman? "But the state was the central organism which coordinated the industrialization process, it created the infrastructures, it attracted foreign investment, it decided the strategic priorities and, when necessary, recurred[clarification needed] to impose its conditions."

This sentence, in special, is laughable. The tone of this article is completely political and anti-encyclopedic.
