West Bengal and Bangladesh have two sarees with the same name, but they are actually different sarees in terms of weaving technique and design. That is why the article titles were kept as –

@খাঁ শুভেন্দু Tangail is in Bangladesh and was never part of "West Bengal". India making "tangail" sarees means that they are appropriating Bangladeshi/Bengal heritage and passing it off as their own. Although both historically originating from Tangail region of Bangladesh(hence the name Tangail saree)India had managed to receive its GI tag.Current publication of India as regarding Tangail saree as a product originating in West Bengal has sparked protests all over Bangladesh in the early days of 2024,especially in the capital city of Bangladesh,Dhaka.With the inaccuracy in giving the GI tag to the wrong country,it is strictly advisable to properly fact check any sources that is published anywhere in the internet regarding the origin of this saree. 114.130.184.96 (talk) 00:27, 5 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

They are claiming that this saree is originating from Nadia of West Bengal, which is completely false claim. Tangail Saree is originated in Pathrail of Tangail of Bangladesh. When Bengal divided in two parts as East Bengal (later Bangladesh) and West Bengal, some workers who mainly was from Bangladesh settled in West Bengal and they started to make the same product which is mainly from Bangladesh!
