Aggro

- Er, no, "aggro" doesn't mean "tough" - it's short for "aggravation". Hence the usage: "Causing aggro", "Looking for aggro" etc. And no, it wasn't "used to describe reggae music at the time." The closest link between the British slang term 'aggro' and The Aggrolites is that the former phrase would have been used by skinheads (and other thugs) at the time. If you look at some of the pictures on The Aggrolites web page you'll see that their shows seem to be populated by grown men who, for some reason, think it's okay to dress like neo-Nazi cretins. That is, skinheads. Bizarre.

- - The neo nazis are dressing like the traditional skinheads who are not racist.

Before making any statements about skinheads or skinhead culture, get the facts, a good start would be the Skinhead article right here on wikipedia. Aggro might (or might not), as many words in the english (and others, like for example swedish) language have different meanings. Just for the fun of it let's look at the Swedish slang word "balle" in southern parts of Sweden this refers to one of your butt checks where as in other parts it's referring to the male reproductive organ. Agree, it isn't very important. Although at their site "aggro" refers to "tough": The band took it's name 1960s British slang term aggro meaning "tough". During that era, aggro was a term used to describe the tough reggae sound getting more and more popular in the U.K.. Since they provide a explanation for it i think we should use it. Any thoughts? If that's on their site, then by all means add it here as an exact direct quote (with a reference link). However, make sure it's clear that it's the band, not Wikipedia, that's using that particular definition of aggro. Spylab 15:34, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Two things.. Its Agro.. Not Aggro!... and its origins lay in the British hooligan soccer chants of the 70's not the Jamican dancehalls of the 60's. The Aggrolites are considered a Ska or Skinhead Reggae band outside the USA and wikipedia, not a Reggae band... Bluddy Yanks never get anything right aye?
