Currently the Beaver is again in the headlines for some rather disgusting "jokes" about how to rape women: www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2063405/LSE-students-forced-hiding-penning-joke-rape-university-newspaper.html It seems to me that the article should reflect such developments as well and not restrict itself to some promotional blurb. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.145.135.26 (talk) 09:02, 19 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Do we really need a page this size for a paper of 4,000 circulation?

The LSE is one of the world's most prominent universities. The Beaver is one of the most famous student newspapers in the world. It may only have a circulation of 4,000, but the LSE only has 7,000 students. Ask any former student about 'The Beaver' and they will have stories to tell - from the radical protests in the 1960's, through to the paper's most recent coverage and exposure in the national press. For better or worse, the LSE has educated Britain's (and the world's) political elite - prime ministers, MPs, heads of state - all of whom will have some memory of the paper. It's a shame that some over-zealous editors have stripped out a great deal of information from this article because of their own ignorance.

Current LSE students, soon-to-be LSE students, alumni and employers would all value the information that was removed from this page.
