I don't think the Allman Brothers Band banner belongs here

I don't think the Allman Brothers Band banner belongs here. The Derek Trucks Band is a separate entity; with the exception of Derek Trucks, none of the members have ever been in that band. Perhaps it belongs only with Derek Trucks' article. How do other editors feel about this? --Leahtwosaints (talk) 16:25, 21 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think keep it, until there's a template for the DTB itself, which i can make if u give me a list of members, albums, eps etc, everything.

We have a template for the DTB, so I think the Allman Brothers Band template belongs only to Derek himself. The others have guested with them countless times, but aren't members in any sense of the word.--Leahtwosaints (talk) 03:49, 22 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I see your point.

I would like to offer some clarifications in your data...I was there so my info is quite valid. Derek had played with a couple of Florida bands that I believe had used his name, but the first incarnation of The Derek Trucks Band was formed in May 1994 in Atlanta, GA. This band consisted of Todd Smallie (bass/vocals), Ricky Fargo (drums/vocals), Ron Roper(organ/piano/vocals), and Derek Trucks on guitar. Guitarist Larry Oakes (Bad Company/Foreigner)joined a couple of months later. Ricky Fargo left the band in late January 1995 and was replaced briefly on drums by Jeff Sipe (Aquarium Rescue Unit and many others). Yonrico Scott came on board as drummer/vocalist in March 1995. Ron Roper left the band in June 1995...Bill McKay joined on keyboards/vocals some months later. Ron Roper was co-writer of the instrumental "Egg 15" that was released on "The Derek Trucks Band" in 1997 and was writer of "Alright" that was released on "Out of the Madness" in 1998...not sure of McKay's writing credits but I am sure of Roper's. Hope this info can be helpful. Piorgan (talk) 01:05, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, the writing credit info IS helpful; however, when it comes to dates, we have to follow what is listed both in Derek Trucks' own website, and the notes also from Yonrico Scott, as they would be considered "most reliable". A peculiar saying from the Wikipedia is that, "It doesn't matter if it's true; what matters is if it can be referenced." ..or something like that, anyway! I'll get around to this article soon as my own elderly computer is fixed, as well as the others from this group.--Leahtwosaints (talk) 01:40, 28 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
