Bill Temple

"By 1904, the behaviour of the Junction workers was so out of hand, leading the residents, led by Bill Temple, to vote for banning the sale of alcohol until 1998." According to the article on Mr Temple, he was born in 1898 and began his political career in 1945. He led the movement to continue prohibition in the Junction, but he wasn't part of establishing it originally. 86.167.131.26 (talk) 14:27, 1 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hotels and Inns

"Various inns and hotels that have since been established in the area also assist economic stimulation in the form of tourism"

What hotels? I know there used to be hotels like the Heydon House Hotel, or the Subway Hotel, but they were converted into apartments or demolished a long time ago. A.Roz (talk) 19:07, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Source of the name "Junction"

The article currently asserts, without a source, that the Junction "derives its name from two native trails which intersected in the area prior to European settlement". I really doubt this, as "junction" is primarily railway terminology (and, later, highway terminology). An intersection of two trails would normally be called a "crossroads" or a "fork", not a junction. A quick search turns up a report (http://www.tac-atc.ca/English/pdf/conf2007/s7/anderson.pdf) which states (on page 2) that the Junction is indeed named for the railway junctions. I'm therefore going to delete the assertion from the article. If someone has a reliable source for the native trail etymology, then please do reinstate it. Good idea. Thanks for the note. Probably was a neighbourhood myth. Alaney2k (talk) 14:39, 16 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The name comes very specifically from "Toronto Junction" formed by CP when they connected the newly built Ontario and Quebec to the Credit Valley and Grey and Bruce, which already crossed at this point. Maury Markowitz (talk) 15:14, 14 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Junction map image

The image "The_Junction_map.png" is missing a major street (Annette St.) which forms the southern border of the Junction neighbourhood. It shows Dupont St. terminating at Keele St. when in reality it turns into Annette and continues west, where it terminates at Jane St. Can the image be replaced with a more accurate representation? 209.195.85.136 (talk) 05:50, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Is this a duplicate?

Can anyone see a reason for the article Junction Triangle? It appears to be discussing the same topic as this one... right? If so, a merge is in order. Maury Markowitz (talk) 15:11, 14 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Stock Yards Village

I have merged Stock Yards Village into this article, as it lacks notability of its own. Johnny Au (talk/contributions) 00:32, 1 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
