Articles cleanup

I've rewrote the lead and the intro to the history. The article is in a dire need to a rewrite. Some of it reads like an advertisement or taken from a magazine or news article. This is something which has been as issue here before. There also appears to be the same user(s) making edits to this article, which may suggest a CoI. The tone also needs to change.
