Does anyone know why Visconti left the Bowie camp before Hunky Dory and was not involved in the Spiders from Mars ? -- Beardo (talk) 10:00, 23 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

There was dissent in the camp. Everyone had a standard two-man tent, but Visconti turned up at the campsite with a massive 8-man tent built into a trailer on the back of a 3.0 Ford Granada, which he raced around the field late at night after he'd had a few drinks. Surely the discography should also include his work as a recording artist (rather than producer). Visconti has released at least one (particularly awful) album, though it did include the excellent "I Remember Brooklyn", and the article suggests he had earlier releases in the United States. This article states that Visconti met Denny Cordell in 1968 and subsequently moved to London to work with him, etc., etc., etc... The thing is, he had worked as assistant producer to Cordell on The Move's "Flowers in the Rain," and done the orchestral arrangement for the song - which was recorded in 1967. I thought someone would already have mentioned this, but if they have I can't find it. Visconti didn't start his work with David Bowie on the album that became 'Space Oddity' (under various alternative titles). Visconti had already produced several songs in Bowie's earlier sessions for the Deram label. Some of these were released on later Decca compilations. Someone who is more expert on the subject could fill in the details. The ones I am sure of are 'Karma Man' and 'In the Heat of the Morning'.31.51.2.150 (talk) 13:47, 16 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
