I merged the two together making Tritylodontidae the primary —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tom mayfair (talkcontribs) 11:00, July 24, 2006 Tom mayfair

Does anyone have a good cladogram that could be used on this page to help clarify the relationships between the tritylodonts? PageRob (talk) 20:49, 31 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Missing Genera

I'm going to try to fill out the red links in this family over the coming weeks. Gruekiller 20:21 (UTC), 2 December 2013

Unnecessarily detailed cladogram

I appreciate an informative cladogram as much as anyone, but I feel the one on this article in its current state is far more detailed than necessary, especially since the majority of the taxa are not even Tritylodontids. The cladogram is reproduced on

Cynodont where it more logically belongs since it details with broader groups to which Tritylodontids belong. As others have noted, the cladogram also contains a error due to its complexity, and I'll repeat my suggestions: possible solutions here include lumping non-focal terminal taxa at the family or subfamily level, starting the cladogram at say, Eucynodontia or Probainognathia, and/or pruning stem taxa in the interest of simplicity. A truly encyclopedic entry would summarize the existing knowledge, rather than go into extensive- albeit faithful- detail of a single study. I'm in favor of simplifying the essentials whenever possible to convey the information to the broadest audience.--Animalparty-- (talk) 01:37, 17 December 2013 (UTC)[reply

Error

Tritylodontoidea is one place located amongst the Cynognathia, but other places amongst the group Probainognathia. Only one of them can be correct. 2A02:FE0:C900:1:82F:DB51:BFBB:2CC7 (talk) 22:49, 21 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
