I'm having trouble understanding something. Is this statue lost? This article doesn't mention it's current location, but doesn't say it's lost. It also doesn't seem to include a photo, suggesting the drawings is all there is. I notice a painting is captioned in English 'Watelet confronts the Venus de Medici'. I question whether 'confronts' is the correct word as he does not appear from his article to be opposed to sculptures like this; might not the correct word be 'contemplates', as he is depicted looking at the statuette while otherwise reading a book on the desk before him. There is a French inscription which describes the picture more fully but as I am not fluent in French I do not know how it fully translates.Cloptonson (talk) 07:12, 10 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
