Added because this really needs attention for historical accuracy. I'm sure the sequence of events is accurate, but on the subject of character and motivation, the article inherits a polemical tone from its 1904 source - "But the people, who had been long imbibing the spirit of liberty in their forest home, at last rose in rebellion against the tyranny of their cynical old governor .... etc etc" - that needs cleaning up for neutrality. I've tried to clean it up as much as I could, but I found that virtually the entire article is copied verbatim from "History of the United States of America" (listed in the bibliography). That book is in the public domain due to its age, so it's not a copyright issue, but article certainly needs a major rewrite.--Mojo Hand (talk) 02:23, 25 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Much of it comes verbatim from some archaic, crap, biased encyclopedia...

Sorry, sorry, sorry - pardon my appalling manners (it's late on a Friday - never edit drunk!). But seriously, I hope you agree the above quote is an example of historical bias, and very dated style, in the source material. It does need review for NPOV, and I think the obvious pro-Colonial bias needs expert assessment of the material to correct. For instance, how much authorial bias is there in the description of the governor as "tyrannical"? Tearlach 10:08, 14 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
