Virtuix dead?

The website is gone, does the company exist anymore? Does anyone know the new website if there is any? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.73.1.96 (talk) 17:42, 10 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It's more likely that the website is down than that the company has disappeared into thin air. Either way, give it more time. If Google isn't finding the site, no one on Wikipedia would either. czar

Anyone up for a cleanup?

This article seems horribly messy and reads like an advertisement. The Kickstarter for the Omni began over a decade ago, and given that the product promised has yet to be released, it seems like this article has just been accumulating cruft of what happened to be any news about the product.

My understanding from verifiable sources is:

  1. Very successful Kickstarter in 2013 raises over $1M with a planned retail price of $399.
  2. Various production delays over subsequent years.
  3. Virtuix refunds their Kickstarter backers and pivots away from the originally-planned consumer product. (The CEO says "We refunded all our Kickstarter backers and pre-orders with interest and pivoted to the commercial market where we did quite well."
  4. Some investors received a version of the Omni product.
  5. Virtuix releases a version of the Omni product (Arena? Pro?) for commercial applications, like Dave & Busters.
  6. In 2020, Virtuix announces a new consumer product, the Omni One, planned to release in 2021 and retail for $1,995.
  7. As of the end of 2023, the Omni One is available for pre-order, planned to release in Q2 2024 and retail for $,2595.

I'm thinking that a lot of the article can be trimmed down to just focus on the product itself. Things like military use are pure speculation. The CEO hyping the product isn't notable.

Any objections or suggestions to me trying to clean this up? Davidwbaker (talk) 01:00, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Pre-order fulfillment??

Acc to roadtovr Virtuix Cancels International Pre-Orders for Omni VR Treadmill in 2016. What happened with the pre-orders in the end?? The company still exists in 2023 and even has a new model on the way. Did they fulfill only US pre-orders (and return money to others) or all pre-orders eventually or neither?? It's important for the article, is it a scam or a proper company. Setenzatsu.2 (talk) 00:13, 31 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
