pronunciation

"The town's name sounds like "war-hope" when pronounced in Australian English" because Australians tend to drop 'r's at the end of words. If an American, Canadian or Scott were to read the intro to this article, they would assume the town's name was pronounced waR-hope - which it isn't. I suggest that the 'pronunciation' bit be changed to reflect that there is no 'R' in the pronunciation of the name. -- 136.153.2.2 (talk) 08:39, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The correct thing to do would be to put a correct
phonetic pronounciation into the article. I'm not sure how to do that, but Help:IPA might be a good starting point. --Athol Mullen (talk) 02:22, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply
