This article needs more work than I have time to do at the moment but I would like to stress the importance of the subject. Snelgrave's book is a major eye-witness account of the slave trade in the early 18th century. It is also a primary source for the history of piracy since he was captured in the Sierra Leone River in April 1719 by Howell Davies, Thmas Cocklyn and Olivier Levasseur aka La Bouche or La Buse. His account of how he was treated and the relations between these gentlemen is one of the most surprising documents on piracy that I have ever read. As it stands the article should be classed as a stub in categories concerning the history of West Africa, the slave trade and piracy. Boulet rouge (talk) 10:20, 27 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
