Separate articles for each games

Does anyone know why there's not an individual article for each X Games? Was this intentional? Has just no one ever made one (Except for X Games VIII)? Can I just not find them? -- Natalya 01:39, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

How much do these guys earn... 1st place, 2nd place etc...

Defunct sport help

I'm trying to fill out the defunct sport category and there's one thing I'm uncertain about. I vaguely remember watching '97 WinterX and there being a super-modified shovel racing event, something involving taking a manure shovel and building an aerodynamic body around it (you sat in the shovel and it touched the ground) and racing them dual down the BMX speed course. However, my memory's rusty and I can't find any references to the '97 games on expn. This is the only event I believe I'm missing.--Torlek 21:36, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Adding athletes

We should be able to add information about individuals that are relevant within the industry. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chewycreation (talkcontribs)

Perhaps we could add a section for notable competitors, either in a separate section or under each sport. Remember, though, there might already be articles about them, in which case all that would need to be done would be to link to them. If you're considereing writing an article about someone who doesn't have one, be sure to make sure they are notable as prescribed by Wikipedia's notability guidelines. -- Natalya 13:26, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The X Computer Game Series

Hey guys. Im working on the X computer game series wiki stuff. I dont want to intrude on your article so I will make this a request. Could you add a disambiguation link for the 'X Computer Game Series' which links to

It makes sense to have a disambiguation link for that; I'll take care of it, thanks for pointing it out. -- Natalya 01:38, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Skateboard Vert Best Trick at X Games 13

What happened to Vert Best Trick? Was the event just canceled this year or was it permanently removed from the X Games? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.178.91.225 (talk) 9 August 2007

Good question. Vert Best Trick happened at X Games 16, but I didn't see it this year. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jaredstein (talkcontribs) 19:59, 31 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Winter X Games 12

Anyone else want to help put together an article on the current Winter X Games? There are individual articles for all the summer ones, so it's the next logical step in article development and it's certainly very topical. I'm not sure I've got the time to devote to fully delving into it now, but I thought this would be a good place to see if we could get a good article together and maybe get a DYK out of it before the memory of the event fades.

Biased in favor of Winter X Games?

Most of this article is focusing on the Winter X Games. Is this a bias? Dalekusa (talk) 18:51, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

EA Skate

Why Do People Not Say Skate (video game) Had The X-Games

Skateboard Vert highest score

The article says Bob Burnquist has the highest score of a 98 in '01 but Bucky Lasek got a 98.50 in '00.[1]

So change it. --Mr. Stein (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 20:02, 31 July 2011 (UTC).[reply]

History and founding

Given this is an encyclopedia article, I was hoping for a bit more info on the founding the X Games, the organization of extreme sports in the early nineties, etc. Anyone out there knowledgeable on the subject? --Sephiroth9611 (talk) 15:25, 22 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Made for and owned by a broadcaster

I changed the intro somewhat, to clarify that the X Games, contrary to most sports competitions, aren't arranged by any sports body (like the Olympics for instance), but is a purely commercial venture started by a TV broadcaster in order to generate more revenue. This may be known in the US, but most people in the rest of the world probably don't know it. Thomas Blomberg (talk) 11:52, 28 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

List of Events lacking

I sought out this page looking to see what sports are part of the winter and summer X-games. Someone interested in promoting them might be interested in including such a section within this topic. Specifically, I'm trying to find out if/when skydiving events were part of the games. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.47.149.212 (talk) 16:51, 9 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

History section cleanup

In January 2009, someone put a {{cleanup}} banner on the history section, without making a comment in the talk page about what should be changed. Broadly speaking, it seems to meet Wikipedia standards for a list, and is probably not the priority for improving this article. Therefore I removed the banner.

However, everything can be improved. For example, the section could do with an introduction in prose, as well as replacing the hyphens with dashes.

Photos

Don't we have a single photo of an X Games skater, boarder or rider? I can't believe that the Commons doesn't even have Cat:X Games. Where are our American extreme sports fans? --NaBUru38 (talk) 23:35, 4 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Because of some editors who like to toy with or remove photos that other editors have not posted photos. One editor removed a photo because he think it is "]

This seems to be the result of an editing error. Anyone know what the original paragraph said? --Eamonnca1 TALK 22:29, 28 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I just got to the bottom of this: it was a destructive edit. I manually reverted it. Jladams97 (talk) 20:15, 28 January 2013 (UTC)jladams97 20:14, 28 Jan 2013 (UTC)[reply]

X Games XIX is pretty sparse

Saw the ESPN piece on

X Games XIX which hasn't happened yet. I'm not exactly sure what the structure is of these multi-location events; are X Games Barcelona, Brazil, and Munich considered to be under the umbrella of the 19th Summer X Games? Are they standalone vents that should have their own articles? Tarc (talk) 19:20, 29 June 2013 (UTC)[reply
]

An article on the X Games held in Munich in 2013 would be really nice, compare to X Games Los Angeles 2013. Cheers! Horst-schlaemma (talk) 22:56, 20 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Added Info

I was reading some things about that X Games and found that this year's winter games was the first time ESPN used drones to get an arial view. With all the sporting events ESPN covers, I thought it was pretty cool that they chose X Games as a trial for drone coverage. Cieraasu (talk) 04:20, 17 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Calgary not replacing Aspen

When I was watching X Games coverage tonight they mentioned that the Winter X Games would be in Aspen, so I did some digging around and it appears that the Calgary event is in addition to the Winter X Games in Aspen, so in other words it is supplementing it, not replacing it.

It's a one-on-one discussion, but I feel that the argument presented for merging is superior to that of the one for not merging, so closing as merge. - Cukie Gherkin (talk) 19:54, 20 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
