• I find the hooks wordy rather than hooky. The first hook could easily be shortened:
• ALT2: ... that the Shumen Plateau Nature Park (pictured) is located in the highest of the plateaus of the Danube Plain?
• Shortening the second hook would have to explain "first – where?":
