Nickname

USL's nickname didn't officially become the Ragin' Cajuns until 1974. USL was known as the Bulldogs before then. The earliest reference to the nickname Bulldogs that I could find was from 1936. I'm not sure when SLI adopted Bulldogs as the team's nickname. This yell from 1912 suggests that SLII's nickname may have been Indians at that time. Since Ragin' Cajuns was not officially adopted until 1974, I will change the nickname on all of the earlier football season years to Bulldogs. -AllisonFoley (talk) 21:24, 29 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
