Order

Do you think the street articles will be easier to navigate if instead of alphabetical order, they are sorted by physical position like in

Concession Roads vs Lines

1) Generally, I think the most common usage is "sideroad" and not "sideline" or "concession line"

2) What is Toronto today had several different surveys. In the south, concessions ran parallel to the lake. In the North, concessions ran parallel to Yonge. Thus Bathurst might be a sideroad in southern Toronto, but is a concession road in Vaughan and King Townships and North York. Thus it is difficult/impossible to assign a category to most roads. Look closely at the York County atlas http://www.historicmapworks.com/Map/CA/345/County+Map/York+County+1878/Ontario/

You can see the directions of the lots clearly change direction at the road which is north of Davisville, which is Eglinton. Rephrased: concession roads run east-west south of Eglinton, and N-S north of Eglinton. You can also see Scarborough is on an entirely different grid, with concessions lettered A,B,C,D. Not all pages/redirects are on the temeplate

Pages such as

Coxwell aren't linked, and Runnymede
isn't even a redirect but a page of its own, which seems outdated, possibly because of no link here. There is no link to it anywhere on the list pages or on this. Is this intentional? I understand some pages may not deserve a spot on the list, however these 2 Aswell as a few more don't make sense Here is a list of roads that could be added: Runnymede, Adelaide, Wellesley, Millwood, Oakwood, Overlea, Christie, Donlands , Main, Broadview, Middlefield, Orton Park, Pape, Pharmacy, Willowdale , Beare, Wellington, Harbord(Currenlty redirects to Harbord Street Bridge) Annette, O'Connor, Carlingview, Centennial, Conlins,

Almost certainly more Humulator (talk) 17:10, 7 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

So any streets with their own article should be here, redirects should not (since they just redirect to the linked north-south / east-west lists). This happened because a lot of the pages that were merged into these lists, since they were just a bunch of transit routes, were recreated as a bunch of transit routes and tables of landmarks over the years. They never got put back on the list. - Floydian τ ¢ 14:01, 8 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
ok, so basically the idea is if its standalone article, it's on the template? if that's the case it really needs a cleanup, like 50% of pages are just redirects. I think we should make a dummy template or something like that, so stuff like not putting it in when it should be in can't happen. Anyway, this goes, I think its unarguable we should add Runnymede back. Humulator (talk) 15:15, 8 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, i think major roads have exceptions. Adelaide is the only one that isn't there that would make sense, with Richmond being there I think it should get added. otherwise we should remove Richmond, but im adding Adelaide on. doesn't make sense for just one of them. Honestly, I haven't even bothered with Toronto streets since 2012. There are a handful of editors (Alaney2k, JohnnyAu, Bearcat, among others) that keep an eye on them and perform various semi-automated cleanup tasks, but otherwise, you pretty much have free reign. If you have an idea to improve the organisation or layout of these trash heaps, just go for it and apologise later. You probably won't get answers unless you ping one of us, these grounds are barren. - Floydian τ ¢ 20:57, 13 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
alright. Humulator (talk) 21:38, 13 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
