A sword of
Di-Sword is often thought of as being the equivalent of the Japanese "Kamaitachi phenomenon." Kamaitachi are imaginary spirits. They have been depicted as weasels with razor-sharp scythes instead of arms, however, this is what results when one faithfully follows how the people of the past envisioned them. If one were to describe them in words, they are beings with a thin sense of reality to them, akin to "spirits of the wind." But their existence has already been verified by modern science; it is a natural phenomenon that occurs in places where the air is extremely dry, and the vacuum consequently produced cuts one's skin.
According to urban legends, a Di-Sword can be "real-booted" by people known as
of other gigalomaniacs such as Di-Swords). This process of real-booting a Di-Sword begins with the Dirac equation, when a gigalomaniac pulls one through a channel connected to the Dirac sea, producing an delusional "error" (a set of particle-antiparticle pairs that can be seen by other gigalomaniacs but cannot interact with ordinary matter). A gigalomaniac is not able to produce a Di-Sword using this method until their biorhythm rises, usually caused by abmormally high GE (Gravity Entropy)-ratings of variations in Earth's gravitational field in places such asDi-Swords can then be used by gigalomaniacs to real-boot other delusions into existence, and this becomes especially powerful if multiple gigalomaniacs synchronize their delusions with each other. They can also be used as weapons as well. A gigalomaniac can switch a Di-Sword back and forth from being a delusional "error" only visible to other gigalomaniacs that doesn't interact with ordinary matter, and being a real physical object that anybody can see. Switching a Di-Sword back and forth between being a delusion and being real is an essential skill in Di-Sword combat, since it allows the Di-Sword to freely pass through other objects when it is an "error" and then cut things once it is real. The other main aspect to Di-Sword combat involves giving your opponent delusions by projecting images into the blind spot in your opponent's brain, an ability that gigalomaniacs have which is greatly enhanced once they have a Di-Sword.
Someone who is not a gigalomaniac can also produce a Di-Sword, if they use a machine based on the Ir2 equation that broadcasts images into the blind spots of people's brains, allowing any ordinary person to take advantage of the process of real-booting. Such a machine allows ordinary people to become artificial gigalomaniacs, with all the same abilities as real gigalomaniacs, including the ability to real-boot their own Di-Swords. According to ancient legends, the reincarnation of the evil king Gladiale from medieval Europe is destined to return and use such a device to try and conquer the world, and only the reincarnated black knights, namely the gigalomaniacs, are capable of stopping him, using their Di-Swords.
A Di-Sword cannot be bought or sold, or given from one person to another. It can only be handled by someone with gigalomaniac abilities, and each gigalomaniac can only use their own Di-Sword, and not anybody else's. Any "Di-Sword" that one can find for sale at a shop or online is a fake, because a Di-Sword can only be used by the gigalomaniac who produced it, and there aren't any shortcuts to getting one (with the exception of a machine based on the Ir2 equation). A gigalomaniac must go through intense suffering before they are able to obtain a Di-Sword, because the Di-Sword draws its power from the negative emotions of its owner. Most gigalomaniacs do go through intense suffering, because, among other reasons, they often have frightful hallucinations. Modern medical science generally misdiagnoses gigalomaniacs as having
