As principal of Jaman Properties, a boutique residential real estate development company, Manheim has designed and built over 20 high-profile residences in Los Angeles and New York

Biography

Early Life and Education

Michael Manheim grew up in California and Arizona, the trumpet playing son of a college professor. He was educated at The Verde Valley School and Harvard University where he graduated with honors in Government, worked for Daniel Patrick Moynihan, and played first trumpet with The Hasty Pudding Theatricals and The Harvard University Band--including performing at Carnegie Hall.

A week after Mr. Manheim graduated from college, he received his acceptance letter to Oxford for graduate school and… his draft notice. He was given the choice of serving 2 years in Viet Nam or 6 years in the Rhode Island National Guard Band. When Mr. Manheim tells people, “Music saved my life” it’s not an exaggeration.

Professional life

In 1972, Manheim began his show business career as a production executive for

From 1982 to 1986, Mr. Manheim served as Vice President of Creative Affairs at Norman Lear's and Jerry Perenchio’s Embassy Pictures where he oversaw theatrical film development and production for a slate of motion pictures.

In 1986, Manheim launched The Manheim Company through a deal with
