Durgaprasanna Paramhansadeb[1] (দুর্গাপ্রসন্ন পরমহংসদেব) (3rd Nov 1892– 16th August 1892) was a Hindu Yogi,Mystic,Satguru and Saint who founded an organization known as the Sree Guru Sangha with the main motive of making honest people and helping others to let them know the correct way of living life peacefully and happily.It is a welfare philanthropic and religious organisation. It stands on the unique philosophy of Karma in human life, Satya(Truth), Seva(Service), Niti(Morality) and Dharma(Religion).

Durgaprasanna was born on the eve of shubho Rash Purnima in Bangladesh.His Father’s name was Purno Shloke Umacharan Chakraborty(Tantra Sadhak) and Mother’s name was Chintamoni Devi.In the year of 1892 his father was blessed by Lord Shiva in Kashidham that "Lord shiva will take birth as his second son".Durgaprasanna was a disciple of Acharya Nibaran Chandra Bhattacharya and leter Swami Nigamananda_Paramahansa.It is believed that at the age of 18 he had his sidhilav of Gayatri Mantra and within 34 years he completed his all sadhanas and in the year of 1955 Sri Srikalikananda Paramhansa conferred him with the title "Paramahamsa" and came to known as "Paribrajak Acharyabor Sri Srimadh Durgaprasanna Paramhansadeb".

Durgaprasanna Paramhansadeb established Naktala Sree Guru Asram as main asram in the occasion of Akshay Tritiya.He also established Giridhari Asram in 1951 in Palashi,Bardhaman Sakha Asram in 1952 in the occasion of Guru Purnima,Bhubaneswar Bhojon Kuthir Asram in 1973,Kashi Sakha Asram in 1970,Brindaban Sakha Asram in 1973,Nabadwip Sakha Asram in 1975.He also established Palasi Acharya Durga Prasanna High School (H.S)on 8th april,1958 and Palasi Acharya Durga Prasanna Girls’ High School on 2nd jan,1962 in Palashi.[2]

Sree Guru Sangha implements all ideals of Durgaprasanna Paramhansadeb through religious and social activities such as Medical and hospital services (Acharya Durga Prasanna Paramahamsa Sevayatan near Naktala road) , relief and social works, students stipends, book grants, help for needy widows, publication of books and periodicals on these principles, propagation of universal ethnology, establishment of better social consciousness, professing the cultural heritage of India.
