Cerrahpaşa is one of the districts of the Fatih district of Istanbul. It takes its name from Cerrah Mehmet Pasha. The most notable thing of the district throughout Fatih is Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine. When the Municipal Council of Istanbul approved the reduction of the number of neighborhoods in Fatih from 69 to 24, the Cerrahpaşa Neighborhood was established by merging the Hobyar, Davutpaşa and Kasap İlyas neighborhoods.[1]
