Gameplay

The gameplay revolves around walking around in order to acquire items, find seedlings, and generate "step energy" required to grow seedlings into Pikmin. Fully grown Pikmin could be sent on "expeditions" in order to collect more items and seedlings.[1]

Development

The game was first unveiled on 23 March 2021. It is the first title developed by Niantic's Tokyo Studio which had been established in April 2018.[2][3]

The game was made available for early testing in Singapore on 30 March 2021,[4] and testing was expanded to Australia on 19 April 2021.[5] It is expected to release on the second half of 2021.[6]
