Malkin the Cat is the user name of Jon Doust, a very young looking 40 year old.

My family and I are resident in France (in the Vendee, in the West Coast) and have been since 2003.

I have diverse interests in history, philosphy and science, though qualifications only in the last, and before moving I worked in the oil industry on refineries and in trading. I am relatively new to contributing to Wikipedia, and only partially IT litereate, so I am sure that I shall be making some terrible faux pas, for which I hope I will be forgiven.

So far I have edited:

Vendée to expand the section on the economy of a region I know quite well and to (rather presumptously on my part perhaps) remove some somewhat blatent advertising. I think I am allowed to do that??

Visbreaker - I know entirely too much about refining to make me interesting at dinner parties.

Plus some minor edits in "

Added an article on the children's book (my absolute favourite) "Grimble" - out of print for years, but a little bird tells me that republication is on the cards.
