Sisterhood is Forever is a 2003 anthology of

Sisterhood is Powerful.[1][2] Sisterhood is Forever shows the reader where feminism has been and what it had accomplished by 2003.[3] The essayists are a diverse group, with varying ages and backgrounds.[3] Essays range in tone from scholarly to narrative and provide both conservative and liberal veiw points.[4] The focus is on feminism in the United States.[5] The book addresses why feminism is still needed in the twenty-first century, providing "alarming" statistics about the status of women in the United States in Morgan's introduction.[6]

Reception

Sisterhood is Forever was considered "multifaceted and compelling" by Publishers Weekly.[4] Morgan's touch can clearly be seen in the book, showing a clear sense of vision through her choices of essays and her footnotes throughout.[5] While some critics felt that focusing on the U.S. was "problematic,"[5] others felt that it made sense, especially in the wake of 9/11.[6][7]
