Me on Wikipedia

I have really enjoyed my time getting involved around here. I have also had some times that weren't all so great, but all in all I would say it has been a positive experience. I am grateful for that experience that I had.

How I got started

Well, one day I read

Later, I found a subject that didn't have a Wikipedia article on it yet and got the chance to start/create my first article!

Shortly after I started working on my user page here where I have learned most of the technical basics. Soon after I got involved in a couple of projects and started trying to improve a few articles. The rest is history I guess.

My Current Interests

I started over. I removed myself from every

hitting on my bones.

If you used to see me around at some article or another and I am not there it is because I am not interested in working on any of the articles I have been previously working on. If, though, you would like one time help on something to get some kinda thing done or another I will be willing to help out. Just give me a shout on my talk page.

What I am doing now

I am currently focusing on

tag

someone's article without making any attempt to improve it myself and without leaving messages on talk pages. The reason I do this is because there are hundreds of new articles started each day, but only a few people checking them out to make sure they have a good start. By tagging an article I am able to make a quick suggestion, or perhaps tag the talk page to attach it to a wikiproject. If I were to stop and edit each article to fix the problems that I see, I would not be able to keep up with how many come in. So I do apologize for being a drive by tagger, but I find it to be better than just marking pages patrolled simply because they are not vandalism and moving on.

Me Personally

I am a former-full-time-semi-pro-musician-and-artist who got fed up with the instability of it all and decided to get a desk job.

I am addicted to internet forums. I own my own forum which has been rather successful and will always come first before any other internet interest I may have in the future.

I consider myself to be diversity-sensitive. Essentially I am very good at avoiding being politically incorrect, but I do not feel people who say things that are considered to not be PC to be offensive. I guess that goes along with my interest in diversity as a subject since technically even the matter of not being careful about those things is a matter of diversity and something that I appreciate in people. Although I admit flat out biggotry easily offends me.

Me Professionally

I am currently employed by one of the top cable television providers in the US as a coordinator for a department that investigates

Quality Assurance Inspections. my job is very project and planning intensive and I do a lot of data mining and analytical

work.

In my job, even though I am not an employee of the IT department I have tools at my disposal which give me the opportunity to do part time Information Technology work. I am at a advanced level of skill with Ms Access and have done a bit of research and practice with

database normalization

. I very much appreciate the opportunity to do this type of work since it is the type of thing I enjoy doing during my off-work time.

My POV on Copyright

As of 8/11/2008

for anything I do on Wikipedia: I hereby release to be used by anyone for any reason. commercial, personal, or otherwise (to the extent allowed here on wikipedia and by law). I know this is kinda informal way to say this but all the same essentially I just want to say the reason I am here, is to contribute in very public ways and I have no interest in holding any of my work here back from anyone.
