Exodus Extranium is a Canadian rock band from Kamloops, BC, Canada. The band formed previously in 2008 with various names, such as "NRG" and "YounGuns", with Jesse Bochek leading with guitar/vocals, lead guitarist John Bentley, and bassist Tanner Zinck, but the band subsided in early 2009 due to complications within the band. Currently, Jesse Bochek is the only member of the band and is doing solo work as of late, using the name "Exodus Extranium" as a nickname, although Bochek has said that if an opportunity comes up, he would love to start the band up again.

History

Early years (2005-2008)

Long before the idea of forming a band had surfaced, Jesse Bochek had been singing and playing guitar at a young age. In the classroom, he created song parodies with his close friend, Tanner Zinck. It didn't take long before they started getting together to play songs, and had decided to give themselves a name. "N-R-G" was formed. After performing a cover of Cream's Sunshine of Your Love, Bochek realized that he had a major talent, so Bochek and Zinck got together again and contacted an old friend, John Bentley, and Exodus Extranium was formed, under the name, "YounGuns".

YounGuns and breakup (2008-2009)

After Zinck, Bochek, and Bentley had gotten together, they practiced multiple times before deciding a name for themselves. After gazing around the room, he found his Gillette razor sitting on top of a desk. This prompted him with the name "YounGuns" (a reference to the Gillette Young Guns, a group of NASCAR drivers sponsored by Gillette). The band practiced more and more before a difference of opinion arose from band members, as well as Bochek moving to Kamloops, and the band had split up. It was confirmed by Bochek on his Facebook status; "Unfortunately, the YounGuns have gone our separate ways. This is due to me, Tanner, and John having to deal with the constant stress that a band has to deal with everyday. And, it may not have helped that we didn't have a drummer, lol". It was said by Bochek that there was a planned album in the making, but that was cut short due to the separation.

Solo act, Exodus Extranium (2009-present)

After Bochek, Bentley, and Zinck went off to do their own thing, Bochek was already preparing to find other band members. After going to a different school, Bochek found more friends to recruit for his then-unnamed band, but this plan had failed. Currently, Bochek has decided to do a solo act, while using the name "Exodus Extranium" as a prefix to his name, in preparation in case a band does form. Bochek has no singles as of late.
