Welcome

Hello, and

welcome
to Wikipedia!

Someone using this IP address, 109.79.72.70, made test edits on the page Sela Ward which have been reverted or removed. If you did this, please use the sandbox for any other tests you may want to perform. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Here are some other hints and tips:

  • I recommend that you get a username. You do not have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but creating an account is quick, free and non-intrusive, requires no personal information, and there are many benefits of having a username. (If you edit without a username, your IP address is used to identify you instead.)
  • When using talk pages, please sign your name at the end of your messages by typing four tildes (~~~~). This will automatically produce your username (or IP address) and the date.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, visit the Teahouse, our help forum for new users, or type {{helpme}} here on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome! Informationageuser (talk) 22:32, 12 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Informationageuser. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Sela Ward, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Hi there! The above is from a notify template, but this is me with some additional context for you: I noticed you attempted to add a birthdate to the infobox. There were two issues with this edit. First, (and this can be tricky) incorrect syntax used, which makes the date fail to render even when published. The date needs to be in the correct order, and must go after the "=" sign (but before the inline note). Second, even if the syntax was entered correctly, this parameter requires a citation of source to be added with the birthdate (as the inline note says). Wikipedia is particularly strict/sensitive when it comes to BLP (biographies of living persons), especially with regard to their edits and sources. Please check out this

helpful guide on BLP
. I know this can be tricky when starting out, but I encourage you to visit the reference guides linked in this notice and the Welcome notice I posted on your Talk page as well. Practice using a sandbox first, and of course ask questions if you're stuck or need guidance. Cheers! Informationageuser (talk) 22:48, 12 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
