Wot no acknowledgement ?
Thanks for all the good work you've been doing since 2004. I can't believe that no-ones bothered to thank (or welcome) you - the nasty side of Wikipedia :-( I presume this is a static IP address ? cheers -- John (Daytona2 · Talk · Contribs) 07:25, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
RE: Flight Officer George Goodman and your undo - revision. The subsection is controversial not declarative. A copy of the birth certificate, in Hebrew, is on file with AJEX (Assoc. of Jewish Ex-Servicemen and women) http://www.ajex.org.uk/ in London. It is not part of British birth records. He was born in Haifa, which you accurately note was not a designated national territory but under British Military occupation after Allenby's victory in 1918. Haifa was legally assigned as part of the British Mandate of Palestine a few years after Goodman's birth by the League of Nations. The undo revision statement is a declarative sentence based on incomplete information that is used by the BoB Memorial Society. If you wish to be 100% accurate then Goodman should be known as a Turkish national as Haifa was still nominally and legally part of Turkey, when he was born. As noted and agreed upon earlier, Palestine, as a national entity, did not exist, prior to his birth or subsequent to it. Just having a British father does not make one British. Undo-Revision to the earlier statement is not consistent with NPOV. Perhaps the solution to the clouded birth designation should be to simply note he was born in Haifa, then under British military occupation prior to Britain being assigned the Mandate. - Thanks for the suggestion, I'll think about it. It's really not that important... 192.118.27.253 (talk) 06:32, 22 March 2016 (UTC)

- Thank you for the notification, I saw the answer. Unfortunately, the spurious CAPTCHA seems to have been due to some kind of transient database inconsistency, since it still appeared when I edited the whole article and not just a section, and did not reappear upon trial edits afterwards. 192.118.27.253 (talk) 11:15, 13 March 2019 (UTC)
