}} I was trying to make what I thought were legitimate edits -- by suggesting that a page might not meet notability guidelines and might want to be consider being deleted. I got what seemed like a nice and helpful message from User:VirtualSteve and it looked like it was something that he could help me with. However, when I went to edit the page, it said that that information was from "Template:Welcomevandal". This seems like a ridiculous title to me. I think it is very underhanded to attempt to welcome someone who is trying to make constructive edits -- albeit in a misguided way -- by seeming to be disingenuous by being nice but using a template called "Welcomevandal". Please address this situation, possibly by renaming the template.

Well, the user who put that on did not fully understand what you were doing--this template should be used for welcoming true vandals. This was most likely a human error, but I'm not sure what we should rename this to be--Template:welcome-possible-vandal-with-possibly-unconstructive-edits?  fetchcomms♥ 03:56, 15 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
