Edit summaries are vital for other users to understand your edits

Hi, IP editor, I just spent about 5 minutes figuring out what you did and why. I admit that my tea had not started fully working, but I'd like those minutes back. Edit summaries may seem like a minor indignity at the time, but they really help Wikipedia by not slowing down your fellow editors who review the edits of others. Those 5 minutes could have been used to catch and warn a vandal, for instance.
