Proposed deletion of Michael Toner (journalist)

The article Michael Toner (journalist) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Subject does not appear notable. Most sources only refer to subject in passing or are associated to subject.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be

deleted for any of several reasons
.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Happy Squirrel (talk) 19:01, 1 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Red links

Hello AlexdeGrey! I reverted your removal of red links at

WP:REDLINKS, "It is useful while editing articles to add a red link to indicate that a page will be created soon or that an article should be created for the topic because the subject is notable and verifiable." In this case, the two red links on the template are notable individuals who qualify for an article but having had one created. Red links (hopefully) encourage people to create these articles. I have since created Frederick Heath-Caldwell, but because you removed the link in the template, again, it wasn't being linked from it. I hope this explains why I reverted your edits. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read

the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard

to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on

section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.dnw.co.uk/auction-archive/special-collections/lot.php?specialcollection_id=1&lot_id=199736. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing
.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by

Bruce Belfrage

Hi, and thanks for your very useful recent edits on Bruce Belfrage. However, I had some difficulty with some of your citations and thought I'd ask you to consider reviewing them before my jumping in with remedial action. For instance, here you provide ".[1] which appears to lack specificity, or any help in accessing the reference or its page number. In fact "auto1" is used three times and possibly requires a page number each time. Your second citation (Liberal candidates in 1950) is OK and covers St Johns and modern languages. I would suggest including the page number (p.10). Likewise, a page number would be useful for the citation of One man in his time. Again, here, the ref "[2]" leads to an uninformative page, having no value as verification. Similarly, the bomb episode citation could benefit from having the relevant title included ("BH becomes casualty of war") Enough for now but I promise to give what assistance I can in helping you to improve this article. My interest comes from the fact that in the 1970s I was part of Joyce's first media class at Macquarie. Cheers, Bjenks (talk) 16:37, 28 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Tony Claydon

Hi. I recently added a couple of new people to the OBMs page, Profs McFarlane and Claydon. I haven't put a reference for Tony Claydon's education at Bedford Modern, he was a year or maybe two below me, because the only online source for his education at the School I can find is on his Facebook page. I'm assuming a FB citation wouldn't be an acceptable reference for Wikipedia guidelines. I'll have to leave it because I can't find anything else.Ndstead (talk) 22:54, 28 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
