Hi, I noticed you restored some of the material from User:Frankfurt55 on Operation Jackpot. I have no objection in principle, but would recommend being cautious about his claims, because some of them seem to be contradictoy with other, equally sourced statements we had earlier.

According to the pre-Frankfurt version I restored yesterday [1] the operation at Mongla was commanded by one "Submariner Md. Ahsanullah". This version was referenced to "Rahman, Md. Khalilur, Muktijuddhay Nou-Abhijan, p. 114,

WP:V, as I see these edits as some kind of attempts to rewrite history using made up facts. The source

that i found yesterday mentioned 4 Bengali surnames, Ullah, Sheikh, Khusru and Mondal. these refer to 4 differenct individual and it does not say in any way that Khusru did a major/special role in the event. I agree that these are individual soldiers (some sort of Marines of the Guerilla force) and as such are not individually notable.

No it is not common to use comma in bengali names. but in official documents comma is used in full names to differentiate surname with first name. Following wiki MOS comma should be removed.--DBigXray 07:13, 31 July 2012 (UTC)

In this source, which was initially provided by Frankfurt, and the google book link provided by DBig, it mentions that Khursu was part of the team that destroyed the Somalian vessel. Now, the names of the commanders do not match in the 2 sources. I really don't know how we should proceed as i am unable to determine the reliability of either source. Frankfurt did mention on my talk page and the article's talk page (which he later removed) that he had other sources to support his view and requested time to find such books, and i saw no harm in obliging.

I understand that autobiographical edits are strongly discouraged, but they are still allowed. Frankfurt claims that he has other books/journal that support his view, and we must ask him to provide more references. I believe he is a harmless but passionate new editor, who does not understand the rules of editing on wikipedia, and has poor english writing skills but that should not prevent him from learning and contributing. Hello, hope your studies are going well. As for the article it requires an image and some work on the prose to reduce, what I call, machine-gun sentences, i.e. a series of short sentences in a paragraph that could easily flow together if the author applies a little effort.

e.g. The Netra is a quadrotor UAV with VTOL capability. It does not have moving parts apart from the rotors, which reduces the maintenance needed by the UAV. Flight manoeuvres are performed by independently controlling the speeds of the rotors. It is light-weight (1.5 kg) and portable, and is constructed using carbon fiber composites.

Dear , I do not find any consistency in naming and arranging IITs,While you wish to add Varanasi with IIT(BHU),you do not add Mumbai with IIT Bombay nor Chennai with IIT Madras.Also IIT Rajasthan reflects the name of the state and no city.In such a case IIT (BHU) is the name of the IIT and Varanasi is the location city.Since no other IITs are showing the name of location city,there is no justification for IIT(BHU).So either provide city names with each IIT or remove Varanasi from IIT(BHU).Arranging IITs should have some logical base

I did not make any change in the article, and i simply moved on, as i saw not much value in debating over such a small issue. But i must tell you that i am not the one who is adding Varanasi to the name of the IIT. The IIT is called

• The permission to use an image is derived from the license/copyright under which it was released. That info usually accompanies the image. See for example, File:Sudarshan bomb.jpg. I uploaded it from here and if you scroll to the lower part of that webpage, under "Total Pageviews", you can see this: "Open Source. This work by V2 is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 2.0". If no such info is given on the website that hosts the image, it is assumed to be not free. In that case, it is not possible to use the image on wikipedia. I am not very experienced in this, so you might ask User:DBigXray for the details about a particular case.
• Also, you may contact the publisher of the image (or hosting website) for a free permission to use the image on Wikipedia. If they agree, you can forward the mail to Wikipedia:Volunteer Response Team, who will assign the appropriate license to the image.
• I know it is a frustrating process, but Wikipedia takes copyrights very seriously, mostly as it may cause legal troubles for the website, so read Wikipedia:Guide to image deletion, Wikipedia:Image use policy and Wikipedia:File copyright tags. The page in its opening para says "UN photos cannot be altered, sold, redistributed or used to create derivative works." The images are allowed to be reproduced non-commercially (like on wikipedia), but that initial statement will prevent it from its use on wikipedia, as it is not a free use license. No i got that, but both the lead section of Institutes of National Importance, and Indian_Institutes_of_Information_Technology#Proposed_new_Institutes, along with the cited link to the current MHRD list here does not say IIITs have been declared as INI. Also, this link states literally hundreds of universities as INI if i go by this, i think that source isnt reliably classifying the various institutes. What do you think? Need help

Here (Data from world bank) and here they say that India's GDP (nominal) in 2011 was $1.84798 trillion and GDP (PPP) was $4.47 trillion. But the Economy of India states them as $1.676 trillion and $4.457 trillion respectively. What is more accurate do you know? You might google it. Mrt3366 ^{(Talk page?) The permission is mentioned on the webpage. You just need to scroll down, where it says this: "This work by V2 is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 2.0." Thanks I can now see the license but I doubt that the image belongs to them as it is just somebodies personal website. It looks more like an official photograph. If they are using a UK licence and we must presume a UK base then how did they take an image in India! Perhaps we chould take it to

I don't think it is an official image. And all the images on their website come with the open source license. At least the deletion tag can be removed? Of course, i am biased here, as i spent a lot of time looking for images to add to the article Sudarshan laser-guided bomb (that i created) and this is the only image i found that came with a suitable license. :) Anir1uph | talk | contrib 19:31, 27 August 2012 (UTC)

I am happy for you to remove the deletion tag that doesnt mean I believe the license! it is not specific to that image (the site has the same licence on every page) and as far as I can see the same image appeared on a number of similar blog sites at about the same time. A home-grown website is not exactly a reliable source or a source for images taken on what would be an air-to-air image taken during a military trial of a new weapon. Sorry doesnt add up. • Maybe the blogs copied the image from the site. I know it is tricky, but i would say that there is a website that has released the image on a free license, and i had contacted the website for direct permission to use this image, and they had given me the permission to use this image on Wikipedia via email. Perhaps i could forward their mail to you? Wikipedia required proper permissions for images to keep their ass covered legally, and if that is done, then there should be no problem in keeping an image, right? • I would request you to remove the speedy deletion tag on the image. The reason that "This file is missing evidence of permission. It is sourced to V2, and while a copyright tag has been applied, there is no proof that the author agreed to license the file under the given license." is invalid as V2 had indeed issued the required open source license. The validity of the license is being questioned by you here, and there is no broad consensus for that. So it is not fit for speedy deletion, as it requires discussion. Thanks!
