Games coverage of SSX Tricky

Here's the article you requested. It is split across two columns of text on p.60, so I've merged them for readability. It's quite short, but hopefully it helps. Sorry about the funky angles as this was taken by camera instead of scanner.

Let me know if you need anything else. -Thibbs (talk) 20:13, 1 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Re:SSX 3

Yes, I think that would knock out most of that paragraph. In addition, the whole section is a bit wordy- for example, you have

"Once all "Race" events are completed on a peak, the player's snowboarder is challenged to a "Backcountry race" by their rival snowboarder, which consists of a one on one race against the rival. Winning the "Backcountry race" unlocks a "Peak race", where the player aims to beat their rival's best time from the top of the peak to the bottom of the mountain. Both "Backcountry races" and "Peak races" have only one heat. Completing the "Peak race" unlocks the next peak."

Which could be rewritten as

"After completing the "Race" events, the player's snowboarder is challenged to a one-on-one "Backcountry race" by their rival. Winning unlocks a "Peak race", where the player aims to beat their rival's best time from the peak to the bottom of the mountain. Both races have only one heat. Completing the races unlocks the next peak."

That's about a 25% reduction without losing anything, and I think you could do the same throughout the section. Also, you don't need to "quote" the names of races. --PresN 00:32, 6 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Lego Racers review

Here you go. The OPM review appears to be for Lego Racers 2, but I scanned it anyway. Threw in the EGM review for good measure.

Hope these are useful. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 00:29, 21 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@JimmyBlackwing: Thanks a lot for these, they're going to be very helpful for improving the article. I've noticed that the EGM review has 4 individual scores for the game, but Template:Video game reviews lists a typical score from 0.0 to 10.0. Do you know if there some sort of way to average the numbers together, or is there a single overall score I can find somewhere? Thanks again. BlookerG talk 00:42, 21 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
There's no overall score, and I think averaging might be against the rules. When I've put EGM scores into that template before, I've included them all: 4/4.5/7/2, for example. The template reads that formatting just fine. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 07:36, 21 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, according to GameRankings, EGM gave it an overall score of 5.5/10. I'll use this score in the review template, but discuss the reviewers' opinions in the section. Thanks for your help! BlookerG talk 13:42, 21 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The article SSX 3 you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:SSX 3 for comments about the article. Well done! If the article has not already been on the main page as an "In the news" or "Did you know" item, you can nominate it to appear in Did you know. Message delivered by Legobot, on behalf of Jaguar -- Jaguar (talk) 18:21, 26 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Grow Home

It's a relatively new idea, and purely optional; in the same discussion that changed the template's guideline to round to the nearest whole percent, the suggestion was floated to put in the review count (see Children of Mana for example, currently at FAC) since an average of 8 reviews is a bit different from an average of 80 reviews. That wasn't added to the guidelines, though it got some general support, I just push it as a personal preference that I think helps the table a bit. Feel free to ignore it! --PresN 02:38, 4 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@PresN: I fixed the partial links, but Soetermans changed them back. See this revision. Which is correct? Does it matter what the format is? BlookerG talk 21:40, 4 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

3D Tetris

Here is a link to a Nintendo Power issue that talks a lot about 3D Tetris. I dunno how useful it is, and I'm not super interested in going through it all to see if it can add to the article, so here you go. :D - New Age Retro Hippie (talk) (contributions) 01:04, 11 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Snowboard Super Cross

Hi BlookerG,

Could you elaborate on why this is notable? The source you've added says "In fact, SSX stands for snowboard super cross". That's it. The article itself doesn't mention Snowboard Super Cross at all. Snowboarding might be a given, but 'super cross'?

SSX (series) says "SSX is intended to be short for "Snowboard Supercross",[1] but the complete title has almost never actually been referred to in any way in the marketing or promotion of the games or within the games themselves. According to 2012's SSX the acronym in Team SSX means: Snowboarding, Surfing, and Motocross." If the title isn't used officially, why should Wikipedia point out what the letters *orginally* stood for? --Soetermans. T / C 15:11, 11 April 2015 (UTC)[reply

Lego Racers?

Hello, BlookerG! Congratulations on the promotion of Lego Racers. I was wondering ... before you began editing the article I had the intention of reaching GA as well, and added most of the info to the Development section and the Gameplay section, plus some info to the Reception section. However, I went on hiatus and stopped working on it. I was only wondering if you would mind me adding Lego Racers to my own list of GAs, because I do feel I laid a lot of the basis for the promotion. Best regards, --Khanassassin 13:00, 28 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
