DYK for Woody plant encroachment
On 12 January 2022, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Woody plant encroachment, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that woody plant encroachment can harm the habitats of the cheetah, plains zebra and secretarybird? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Woody plant encroachment. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Woody plant encroachment), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Biochar carbon removal
Thanks for starting the above article. In terms of wiki-fying the content, we need a strong definition reference. Do you have a good reference for BCR itself? The CEEZER article hints at an industry consultation process carried out by the EBI, but I can't find anything. Wikiwayman (talk) 11:26, 3 May 2023 (UTC)
- @Wikiwayman Thanks for this very relevant question. The term was indeed introduced by EBI and unfortunately the only available reference is an announcement on LinkedIn. I have referenced in the article accordingly, but am happy about suggestions on how to go about this alternatively. Calidumpluviam (talk) Calidumpluviam (talk) 06:33, 10 May 2023 (UTC)
- Brilliant. That's exactly what I was hoping for. A lot of the available background material refers to Pyrogenic_carbon_capture_and_storage and I can see that the EBI expect that over time "BCR" will replace "PyCCS" as the term used when discussing the technology. At some point, I think it will be necessary to merge the PyCCS and BCR articles (unless there is a consensus here that they are different enough to keep them as two articles). For now, I think we need to add crosslinks to PyCCS and BCR on each page so that the reader can be fully informed about this developing field. Wikiwayman (talk) 09:15, 11 May 2023 (UTC)]
- @Wikiwayman That is a very valid point. Admittedly, I was note aware of the article on PyCCS. I like the suggestion to crosslink the two articles for now. I will monitor the developments and if there will be no sufficient differentiation between PyCCS and BCR, we can merge the articles. I see that some industry stakeholders have started using the combined abbreviation "PyCCS/BCR" in their publications. In the end BCR might become the preferred term to market respective credits (due to the better simplicity of the term), while PyCCS remains the preferred scientific term.Calidumpluviam (talk) Calidumpluviam (talk) 09:47, 11 May 2023 (UTC)
