You still reviewing this?

I noticed you have had Draft:Sean A. Ross marked as under review for 3 days now, do you want me to review it? Thanks Geardona (talk to me?) 23:24, 27 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yikes! That was a mistake. Yes, go for it. Thanks for noticing and apologies for the oopsie :-) Crunchydillpickle🥒 (talk) 23:43, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No problem! Geardona (talk to me?) 23:45, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hey Crunchydillpickle! Similarly with Draft:Catherine Allsop Griswold. Are you still interested in completing your review? TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 01:46, 12 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I've unmarked the draft given it's now been a week since you started. TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 06:57, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Cooley Massacre

Appologies - I missed the section on William Cooley's page about the massacre. Thank you👍 Geraldine Aino (talk) 20:53, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

No problem! :) Crunchydillpickle🥒 (talk) 23:52, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

There are nothing other than 901, and some number disambiguations from 203 to 205, 450, and 600 are already accepted as well. 176.33.244.31 (talk) 04:04, 14 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:Louisa Grace Fortescue

Thanks for the advice on adding more citations! Done, and resubmitted. Thanks for your help with my first article, trying to shine a light on forgotten female botanists! I've resubmitted, hoping for approval :)

Draft:Louisa Grace Fortescue LetsGetBotanical (talk) 22:11, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yay! I love your username and I can't wait to read more of your articles about female botanists :-) Crunchydillpickle🥒 (talk) 22:43, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It's been declined for not being notable enough :(
Is this how it works? Someone just deletes something based on their taste? Is there a way around this? LetsGetBotanical (talk) 19:45, 16 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi! I'm seeing it now! After looking through a few newspaper archives, I have to agree with
notability standards but I hope you stick around! I am not very involved with WikiProject Women in Red but it seems to have a list of female botanists without articles. Feel free to ask me questions! Crunchydillpickle🥒 (talk) 17:18, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply

New Pages Patrol newsletter April 2024

Hello Crunchydillpickle,

New Page Review queue January to March 2024

Backlog update: The October drive reduced the article backlog from 11,626 to 7,609 and the redirect backlog from 16,985 to 6,431! Congratulations to Schminnte, who led with over 2,300 points.

Following that, New Page Patrol organized another backlog drive for articles in January 2024. The January drive started with 13,650 articles and reduced the backlog to 7,430 articles. Congratulations to JTtheOG, who achieved first place with 1,340 points in this drive.

Looking at the graph, it seems like backlog drives are one of the only things keeping the backlog under control. Another backlog drive is being planned for May. Feel free to participate in the May backlog drive planning discussion.

It's worth noting that both queues are gradually increasing again and are nearing 14,034 articles and 22,540 redirects. We encourage you to keep contributing, even if it's just a single patrol per day. Your support is greatly appreciated!

2023 Awards

Onel5969 won the 2023 cup with 17,761 article reviews last year - that's an average of nearly 50/day. There was one Platinum Award (10,000+ reviews), 2 Gold Awards (5000+ reviews), 6 Silver (2000+), 8 Bronze (1000+), 30 Iron (360+) and 70 more for the 100+ barnstar. Hey man im josh led on redirect reviews by clearing 36,175 of them. For the full details, see the Awards page and the Hall of Fame. Congratulations everyone for their efforts in reviewing!

WMF work on PageTriage: The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers deployed the rewritten NewPagesFeed in October, and then gave the NewPagesFeed a slight visual facelift in November. This concludes most major work to Special:NewPagesFeed, and most major work by the WMF Moderator Tools team, who wrapped up their major work on PageTriage in October. The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers will continue small work on PageTriage as time permits.

Recruitment: A couple of the coordinators have been inviting editors to become reviewers, via mass-messages to their talk pages. If you know someone who you'd think would make a good reviewer, then a personal invitation to them would be great. Additionally, if there are Wikiprojects that you are active on, then you can add a post there asking participants to join NPP. Please be careful not to double invite folks that have already been invited.

Reviewing tip: Reviewers who prefer to patrol new pages within their most familiar subjects can use the regularly updated NPP Browser tool.

Email?

I got a notice that you sent an email but I didn't get it. Bearian (talk) 16:37, 12 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page stalker) I would double check that the email you have listed in preferences is accurate, then. Clovermoss🍀 (talk) 22:18, 12 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

DYK Nomination

Hello, letting you know that I started the review of your nomination for DYK at Template:Did you know nominations/Cora Babbitt Johnson. There are some minor problems, but I think they are easily correctable. 🌿MtBotany (talk) 03:30, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

LOL, didn't even know it was nominated! All I did was add some sources when I accepted it at AfC. You can direct all communications with the article's nominator, User:Borg Axoim. Thanks! :) Crunchydillpickle🥒 (talk) 18:20, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

About your review of Draft:Marc 4

Hey Crunchydillpickle, I don't believe your acceptance of this draft was an appropriate review. The sources provided do not demonstrate the subject's notability under any of the

neutral point of view policy. I'd urge you to revert your acceptance and work with the page creator in draftspace to fix these issues. Let me know if you have any questions. TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 17:54, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply
]

Sure, will draftify. I agree the notability is iffy — I was too optimistic that Italian languages sources would come. My bad. For what it's worth, I don't see major NPOV issues, just poor sourcing. Anyway, sorry. Never my intention to make bad calls. Crunchydillpickle🥒 (talk) 18:12, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No need to apologize, and I appreciate you for taking my feedback in stride! Hopefully, that can inform your process when reviewing in the future. For the record, I don't blame you for trying to accept a submission where you felt the notability was borderline (I think that's an excellent approach for an AfC reviewer) but that was simply not the case here — the closest the sourcing ever got was a couple of passing mentions. I would also not recommend making decisions on drafts based on sources that are not yet cited unless you have personally taken a look at them and determined that they demonstrate the subject's notability. I've done that before, and it's helpful to tag the article with {{Sources exist}} to inform other editors of their existence, or even leaving links in a {{Refideas}} on the talk page. Finally, some of the non-neutral writing I was referring to were these: "collaborate with all the most prestigious soundtrack authors", "became his greatest worldwide success", "dedicated themselves". I hope you can see that this is not encyclopedic language, and I'd recommend you keep an eye out for this kind of stuff in the future. TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 18:26, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ha, I agree those pull quotes have a problem, but I'd say the issue (particularly for the second two) is more than they're unsourced, less that they're promotional. Really all I'm getting at is that NPOV issues and sourcing issues are sometimes two sides of the same coin. Anyway, thanks for noticing. I know I shouldn't apologize — apologies don't seem play much of a role in Wikipedia culture — but I always find it hard not to apologize when I do feel viscerally sorry for the (few, hopefully) less-than-stellar decisions I make here. Crunchydillpickle🥒 (talk) 18:36, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks!

I will go through and deal with these issues. Thanks very much for the efficient and professional work -- sorry for making work for you. I think I can get it up to BIO standards. Richardatlarge (talk) 03:14, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
