I am extremely dubious about the claim. Proton hopping in aqueous solution is a fast reaction, so a vis/uv spectrum will be a time-average of the spectrum of a mixture of isomers. Yes, I confess to being slightly obsessive (if that is not a contradiction) about Ullmann... So I was reading about acetophenone and Ullmann points out that most is produced as a side degradation product of cumene hydroperoxide. Its not really a Hock rearrangement. I agree Ullmann is a great ref, one I sadly don't have access to. Sometimes it feels a bit too

WP:TERTIARY but even then it's a great lead-ref for more (if I ever get time to track them down). Industrial processes are fascinating and unlike what I do...in this case I had no idea that the main route was just a byproduct ("waste stream") of a different process. When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.

There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins.
