Hello, I would first like to thank you for creating the

Swedish intervention in Persia article. How did you find out that it was "eventually a persian victory" ? Gvssy (talk) 19:08, 7 January 2024 (UTC)[reply
]

The thanks is appritiated. The Allies eventually left Persia and Persia did eventually get rid of the insurgents, so i figured that it could be counted as an eventual persian victory.

Okay im sorry. I thought it was okay since my opponents did did it. Its in swedish, but right under "enwp". Dencoolast33 (talk) 16:25, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well, that may also be in a gray zone towards canvassing. However, the difference is that the posting in sv-wiki was linked to all partisipants in the Swedish discussion, while you only linked to the one editor that you thought might support your side. That is votestacking. Perhaps not a serious offense, but please avoid doing it again. Happy editing! --

Battle of the Atlantic

Sweden was not involved in the same way as Norway in the Battle of the Atlantic or World War II, claiming that they were is just false information. No declarations of war against Sweden was made and nor did Sweden declare war on any other nation, this is basic history. As for what happened to the merchant navy according to the source, by being leased or "för brittisk räkning" refers to contributing to maintaining trade routes in the Atlantic, this did not invlove participating in military operations, either overt or covert under Swedish flag. Krigsseglare was not a solider and they were not involved in any military actions as combatants for the Allies or Sweden. Lejdtrafiken was commercial operation, involving foreign trade and it was for the most part respected by both the Axis and the Allies. The merchant vessels were sometimes escorted by the Swedish Navy but these operations were not part of any military campaign as Sweden was neutral during the war.

As for Militärhistorisk Tidskrift, I guess you read the chapter "Svenskar i utländsk uniform" p.171-174 and made your own conclusions from it again. The title of the chapters says it all. There is nothing that backs up your claims there. The source says that 15,000 Swedish citizens went into service in foreign countries either by will or force during the world wars, but the source don't specify which powers nor which kind of "force" that was used. The fact that Swedes fought in Finland and for the Axis and Allied powers is no secret but these were volunteers, no regularly Swedish soldiers took part in World War II. 8,000 sailors were part of commercial enterprises, this was not a breach of the Swedish neutrality but could be described as morally controversial in some cases.

You need to stop cherrypicking. You can't put your own version of history on Wikipedia, you have been warned about this before by several experienced editors. A lot people uses this site for serious education and information gathering and they will be misinformed when they read what you write. Shellwood (talk) 14:56, 27 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sweden leased their merchent navy to the british in the same way as Norway did which is on the list of participants, yet, when Sweden is included its cherrypicking? The Swedish sailors werent volunteers either as you stated, rather, they were leased by the Swedish government (again, in the same way as Norway leased their navy). It does not matter if they were just apart of commercial enterprisis either as the only Norweigian involvement was through said enterprise too (again, the same way as Norway).
Saying that the Swedish merchant navy was not involved in any campaigning is very false too.
Here are just some of the battles with the Swedish merchent navy involved, but nevertheless, you dont have to reply as im not going to revert your edit without your blessing. Dencoolast33 (talk) 15:14, 27 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Norway was at war, Sweden was not. Both warring and neutral countries need to maintain a foreign trade during the war. The reason why some Swedish merchant vessels were part of some convoys are because of the agreements that the Swedish government reached together with the Allied and Axis goverments, Lundberg mentions this in his book. These were not part of any military operations but commercial ones, they bring bananas, oil and coal home. Shellwood (talk) 15:53, 27 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Dencoolast33. Thank you for your work on

, had the following comments:

Thanks for the interesting article; apologies for the delayed review - there is indeed a long backlog. The article is concise and clear; I've done some minor copy editing, expanded a url to a more complete web citation and adjusted the lede to include some key details. It would also be interested to hear how this incident might have affected relations between the relevant countries in 1944, although I suppose they moved on to other more weighty matters.
