Manual of style

Hi there, just wanted to give you a heads up that when adding section titles (headers) to articles, they go in sentence case per

Don't overly divide articles

Thank you for editing!

I took a look at your divisions of Hyattsville, Maryland and I strongly disagree with the division of key aspects of the city by neighborhood. Readers want single comprehensive sections for Transportation, Education, etc. covering the whole city. It's not that big!

Also I must stress that content must be sourced or else it can be removed in a heartbeat.

I accidentally did this because I thought the schools residents of Chillum attended were all contained within Chillum itself such as Chillum Elementary School, Ridgecrest Elementary School, and Cesar Chavez Elementary School. I did not think elementary schools in surrounding areas that are part of the Chillum CDP but not in Chillum such as Rosa L. Parks Elementary School located in the neighboring community of Green Meadows, Lewisdale Elementary School located in neighboring community of Lewisdale, and Carole Highlands Elementary School located in the neighboring community of Carole Highlands. All three of these elementary schools are not located in Chillum itself but are part of the Chillum CDP because of the fact that areas such as Green Meadows, Lewisdale, and Carole Highlands are unincorporated communities that like Chillum have Hyattsville the zipcodes of 20782 and 20783. I apologize if there was any disruption to your sourced content. Notice that I especially changed some of elementary schools you listed beachse of the fact that they were not exactly located within Chillum' actual boundaries. Apology accepted! The article is really about the CDP, since that is where User:Rambot got the source of his data: the population statistics, boundaries, etc. are all from the CDP. The lead even says that it's a CDP.
If the "historical Chillum" does have different boundaries, it would be a great addition. You will need a published source stating what the boundaries are: Newspapers, Maryland government agencies, etc. are all okay. See Third Ward, Houston#Boundaries as an example of sourced content about boundary issues.
Also note the
U.S. Census Bureau
changes the boundaries of CDPs: In 2010 much of what was Chillum CDP was given to Landley Park CDP.
Also
PGCPS
does not put CDP boundaries into consideration when drawing attendance boundaries, so parts of a CDP can be zoned to a school outside the CDP.

Please don't keep adding every street to a line. Only the major streets can be named not every streets. That's why the section is called Major Streets and not Streets served. Just please stop adding every street to a line and only add the major streets. Example: F4 major streets: East-West Highway, Philadelphia Avenue, Riverdale Road, Queensbury Road.

It's ok to add information on the history, we just don't need every street listed on the List of Metrobus routes (Washington, D.C.) page. Only use the major streets the bus travels on the most. And you don't need to put the street numbers as well.

Bus divisions inaccuracies

Please refer to the listing before editing again

  • The 37, 79, P6, only get Bladensburg buses for select peak hour trips
  • The 90 and 92 does not run out of Bladensburg and runs out of Shepherd Parkway
  • E2 only gets Bladensburg buses during Weekdays and Western buses weekends
  • G2, V1, V2, V4, and V7 doesn't run out of Bladensburg. G2 runs out of Western, V1, V2, V4, and V7 runs out of Southern Ave on Weekdays whole V2 and V4 runs out of Shepherd Parkway on Weekends
  • U4, U5, U6, U7, and V8 gets Blade buses during Weekends only
  • The C11, C12, C13, C14, D12, D13, and D14 does not run out of Landover division
  • The K2, K6, and K9 does not run out of Northern and runs out of Montgomery
  • The 96, and 97 does not run out of Shepherd Parkway or Western. It runs either from Bladensburg or (97 only) Southern Ave
  • Shepherd Parkway runs few 32, 34, and 36 buses during rush hours
  • The H11, H12, H13, NH1, NH2, P18, P19, and W14 doesn't run out of Southern Ave. The H11, H12, and H13, runs out of Landover division while NH1, NH2, P18, P19, and W14 run out of Shepherd Parkway
  • The 37 doesn't run out of Western anymore
  • The J12, and K12 runs out of Landover division, not Southern Ave

Doctor of Direction's Response to Swagging

Thank You very much for letting me know about some of the routes I was mistaken by. I guess I was going off of them from the time when I was living in the MD/DC area between 2001 & 2011. I know that C11, C12, C13, C14, D12, D13, D14, H11, H12, and H13 operated from the Landover Metrobus Division even though these routes were supposed to operate out of the Southern Avenue Metrobus Division (formerly known as the, "Prince George's Metrobus Division". Also, I forgot that W13 was discontinued a while ago. Also, when I lived in the MD/DC area, the Shepherd Parkway Metrobus Division did not exist but the Southeastern Metrobus Division did. In addition to these Metrobus Routes, I also believe you should add articles for WMATA's former C7, C9 Greenbelt - Glenmont Line, F5 Sargent Road Line, T15, T16, T17 Greenbelt Line, U2 Minnesota Avenue - Anacostia Line, U5, U6 Mayfair - Marshall Heights Line, U8 Benning Road - Capitol Heights Line, V7, V8, V9 Minnesota Avenue - M Street Line, Z1, Z4 Silver Spring - Glenmont Line, Z3, Z5 Burtonsville Express Line, Z7, Z17 Calverton Express Line, Z9, Z29 Laurel - Burtonsville Express Line, Z13 Greencastle Express Line, and Z19 Fairland Express Line. Even though F5 is the only historical streetcar route that converted into a Metrobus Route in this category, all the other Metrobus Routes I listed right here have intensive history so long they could overflow the wikipedia charts.

The 32, 34, 36 already has a wiki article. I'm beginning to work on the A12, and F8, and I just need more history because most aren't enough from the ones you already put.

Doctor of Direction's Response to Daybears

Actually, I didn't start/ create any of these articles. Another wikipedia user, Swagging, created them in order to free up some space on the main Metrobus Routes wikipedia page chart, and I just happened to add information to his articles. I also have several important sources in this article even though some of them might still be in the main Metrobus Routes wikipedia page. Actually, Swagging was doing the right job by helping get rid of my super detailed summary of some of the Metrobus Routes' histories that were overflowing the wikipedia charts on the main page. I don't think that any of my information is too detailed. I believe some of these details are too important to be left out, otherwise wikipedia readers will not get the proper understanding of each D.C. Metrobus route's history. Besides, having lived in the MD/ DC area, I have a wealth of knowledge on some of the routes.

(In the future, you can just reply under the section I created instead of creating a new one). I know you didn't create them; don't worry, I already left the same message on Swagging's talk page. Actually, most of the information on the individual route articles is way too detailed, or at least it's just unnecessary long wording. Please read the Wikipedia policies on

(Moved from User talk:Daybeers for a centralized discussion) I am very sorry if you think I am disrupting wikipedia. That was never my intention. I thought I added some good sources yesterday, such as Greenbelt News Review & Washington Post, when I added new material/ corrected some facts in the WMATA Metrobus articles. It is just that once I have reviewed and found new information from my sources (which I did not have access to before) that contradict either the facts I may have entered in the WMATA Metrobus articles, or the information entered in those articles, I make every effort to correct the facts. However; grammar wise, I may make mistakes here and there but maybe perhaps, I will be able to use you, or other wikipedia users' help to correct them. In the future, I will no longer call these minor edits to make it clear that maybe my edits are major. I appreciate your feedback and hope you understand that I am trying my very best. I just finished editing the C2 & C4, and F4 & F6 lines, after finding more information about the historic streetcar routes they have replaced, and plan to do some major corrections to the R12 "Kenilworth Avenue" Line article. Helping out with making articles

Do you know how to create an article for Metrobus Routes? If you do, you should make some articles for Metrobus Routes with sources so the List Of Metrobus Routes page can be shorten without an excess flow of information. Since you know more Route history than me, you should make the articles with sources. If you can make an article with sources on Metrobus Routes, that will be helpful. WMATA Flxible buses

Hello. I see you added more pictures of the WMATA fleet. That’s great, but there are some incorrect names that you mentioned. Consider this:

  • The
    Flxible New Look
    instead, so I would say to change the title from “1978 Flxible B” to “1978 Flxible New Looks.” The caption is already corrected.
  • Next is that the Flxible Metro B is not introduced until mid-1987. WMATA ordered the last set of Flxible Metro A in 1986-87, as there is a physical difference between the A and the B models.

Hello again. I forgot to mention, that all your images caption is way too long. Consider to shorten it if possible, by just saying a bus number. Use the example from the Barcroft–South Fairlington Line, or routes 22A, 22C, and 22F, the image has it titled by bus model and its number, not “File: Route 22A at Ballston–MU Station in Arlington, Virginia.” Consider shorten the title for all images, and read the previous message to make it as a helpful tip. WMATA Bus Maryland Route Articles

Hello. I see that you added more images to the Maryland routes articles. That's great, however, consider create a gallery section for the route instead of overflowing the article with too many images which can cause the article unreadable and confusing when it's edited at the right section, but displayed at the wrong section. However, your image title is still too long. I strongly recommend to shorten all image files instead of using very long names. See these two image examples:

  • Your image file name: WMATA 1994 Flxible D bus at the Wheaton Metro Station, operating on the C4 Metrobus Route in the direction of the PG Plaza Metro Station
    • Recommended file rename: WMATA 1994 Flxible D on Route C4

Take my advice on the image naming system, and if there are more images, add them to the gallery, or ask me for help to make the gallery. WMATA Bus fleet notes

Hello. I see that you made more notes on different fleets of WMATA Metrobus. This case I had to automatically revert it to the previous edit, as of the following reason:

  • The notes are way too long, and considered to look like a history rather than notes.

If you have sources (as news, website, etc), you can. But you are talking about history. The article does NOT have a history section of each fleet, and it is not necessary. I would not write about the history on the NABI 35-LFW from Arlington Transit on the differences between 2007-2008, differences on the destination sign on the 1999-2000 and 2002 DASH Orion Vs, and etc. That is
Original Research, which is not allowed. We have an argument with two users: Daybeers and Toddst1, and none of us want to argue with them about this. As I said in the previous messages, until we solve the tags issue, don’t add them. If you have sources, it can be added. Keeping in track on the retired fleet, there are 5724 GMC Fishbowls and 620 AM Generals that used to be operated by WMATA. WMATA wouldn't retire all GMC Fishbowls in 3 years (Not possible between 1998-2000), as if it began in 1998, the last ones would've sent off property after 2011. The AM Generals can't retire all 620 buses in 1991, and the years might be inaccurate as well. It may end in 1991 (according to the source you found), but no one knows when the first one was sent off property. To be precise, the Flxible Metros and the 1992 Orion Vs equally replaced the GMC Fishbowls. The 1997-1998 Orion Vs only replaced the Flxible New Looks, and the 2000 Orion buses replaced the remaining Flxible New Looks and the GMC RTS II buses. Oh, interesting, I thought the last GMC Fishbowls, 1978 Flxible "New Looks", and 1979 GMC RTS buses were retired in 2000?
Just out of curiosity, I wonder if the 2000 Orion VI buses have ever operated on the 80, 81, 82, 83, 86, 96, 97, B2, G8, H1, H2, H3, H4, H6, P6, R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, or W4 Metrobus Routes when they originally operated out of Bladensburg? I have a very hard time imagining this. I have seen pictures of them operate on the D8 Route which operates out of Bladensburg.
I have read from a few sources that there were not really any 2000 Orion VI buses at Montgomery until August, 2002 when they got transferred out of Bladensburg when much more of 2001-2002 CNG New Flyer C40LF buses began operating on Metrobus routes. I believe most of the 2000 Orion VI buses have served Landover throughout most of their lives, since they were present at Landover during the same time as Bladensburg and there were quite a few of them operating on several Landover routes, such as the 84, 85, T18, A12, F1, F2, F4, F6, F8, F12, F14, P12, T16, T17, and R12 Metrobus Routes. Well, the last GMC Fishbowls DID retire in 2000, that will be probably the 1973-1974 models, or the good condition Fishbowl buses. WMATA had the oldest Fishbowls from 1959 that ran under DC Transit before WMATA aquirement in 1973. The 1959 fishbowls retired together with the AM General in the early 1990s, and replaced them with the Flxible Metro B. Although the 1978 Flxible New Looks and the 1979 GMC RTS are all retired in 2001. Both buses were on the ready reserve fleet until all 2000 Orion buses arrives on property.
Apparently, I don't know that much on Bladensburg routes, but I DO know that there were Orion VIs on the REX, and 13B (both from Four Mile Run), 17M (from former Royal Street Division) and 1A (First at Arlington Division, later in West Ox after Arlington Division is closed).
As I stated in the earlier comments, if you found sources about the bus fleet on a specific model, it can be useful in the CPTDB wiki of WMATA Metrobus. Since you know the history of the bus models, you can add them through the CPTDB wikipedia (links: 2000 Orion VIs, 2001-2002 New Flyer C40LF 2300-2399 2400-24592460-2464). For the wikipedia article, only a source that shows on the division fleet and active bus fleets are necessary as sources, not a history of them. Thank You. Bus Pictures

Not every image has to be an older bus that's in the older livery. Also pictures that are blurry or not in high quality aren't usually good for Wiki unless it's the only picture available for that topic you have. Plus Google Maps Images is not a good idea for Wiki articles. Just add something that's pretty recent like a New Flyer XDE40 on the F4. Also image titles don't have to be extremely long. Instead of saying "WMATA 2002 CNG New Flyer C40LF bus at the intersection of Rhode Island Avenue (U.S. Route 1) & 34th Street in Mount Rainier, MD, operating on the 83 Metrobus Route in the direction of Cherry Hill," say "WMATA 2002 New Flyer C40LF on Route 83" and then put the rest of the information on the description of the photo. Also take example of one of my photos; "File:WMATA XDE40 7012 on F6.jpg" is a perfect example of a short title and gives a basic description of the object in the photo. Thanks! Like I said: all photos does NOT have to be all older buses instead, use more recent photos for the article introduction paragraph unless its the only photo. You can put an Orion VI photo in the history section instead of the intro photograph. That photo should be a recent photo instead of an older bus unless its the only photo on Wikipedia. P.S.: If you intend to create an article, be sure to properly name the article. Lines with more than one route can't be used as a title. The F1, F2 (D.C. Metrobus) article was moved to Chillum Road Line. When I make the Columbia Pike Line, I don't create it as 16A, 16C, 16E (D.C. Metrobus) as title, or 16A, 16B, 16D, 16E, 16J, 16P (D.C. Metrobus) as title for the line. Be sure to title it properly.

The reason why I kept having to put my photos of WMATA's buses in third generation livery was because every time I wanted to add photos of older buses later on in each of the Metrobus articles, and even create a gallery, Daybeers kept picking on me and telling me I could not do it. I felt like replacing the newer photos in the articles was the only way I could survive putting my photos in the Metrobus articles without Daybeers lecturing me and reverting my edits. Daybeers obviously does not care and thinks every transit article is his own. But anyways, I will probably just keep the new photo in the infobox and just go back to my old way of just putting my photos in the body of the Metrobus articles or simply creating galleries. Google maps Image on WMATA Metrobus articles.

Hello. When you upload images, and place it to the article, do NOT use Google Maps images, as it is copyrighted from Google, regardless if it is screenshot or taken a picture from a camera to the computer screen. Unless if you have fair use from Google, these images can not be placed in the article, so these images does not count as "own work." Thank you. Alright, I have added a note on each of the images I have taken from my iPhone 7 Plus from Google Maps Street View, as being from Google Maps. Also, I have a Google Maps Account and am a level 10 local guide, which I go on my mac and take photos of older Google Maps Street View pictures not available for view on smartphones or tablets and upload them as part of the photos for many of the Metrobus Stops & Metrorail Stations, such as Branch Avenue, Suitland, Naylor Road, Southern Avenue, Congress Heights, Anacostia, Navy Yard, Benning Road, Capitol Heights, Addison Road, Minnesota Avenue, Deanwood, Cheverly, Landover, New Carrollton, Stadium Armory, Potomac Avenue, Eastern Market, Union Station, Rhode Island Avenue, Brookland-CUA, Fort Totten, West Hyattsville, Prince George's Plaza, College Park - U of MD, Greenbelt, Takoma, Silver Spring, Forest Glen, Wheaton, Glenmont, Bethesda, Medical Center, White Flint, Twinbrook, Rockville, and Shady Grove. So, technicially, even though I have used Google Maps' photos, I have helped them show those photos for many Metrorail Stations & Metrobus Stops. I have also checked Google Maps website terms and conditions and found out that I am free to use their work so long as I acknowledge it is theirs, which I went back in wikimedia commons and did. The problem, though, is that every time I upload images that I have taken on my phone from Google Maps Street View and upload through the wikipedia license that the material is not my own work/ state I have gotten the images from Google Maps, Wikipedia not only rejects my contributions, but then threatens to shut me down. This has happened so much to the point where I have just gotten frustrated and uploaded the work under my own work and then later on put the notes that they are from Google Maps, since that is the only way that they will get through without my account being shut down for (following the proper process that is just very corrupt by a few wikipedia leaders who think that they can oppress articles and the content in them). I also want to let you know that I have replaced the section where it says "my own work", with Google Maps Street View.
I don't know what you are responding to, but either respond in the same section or on the same page as what you are responding to.

The specificity of the intro, while a bit difficult for the average Joe to comprehend, is **absolutely needed** because the postal address can be stated as *both* "Forestville, MD" and "Suitland, MD". The United States Postal Service (USPS) in fact does not care which "city name" is used, as postal address city names do NOT necessarily correspond to any community boundaries. If you address a letter to the school it does not matter whether you write "Suitland, MD" or "Forestville, MD".

I also saw your edit removing the map sourcing of the article about Suitland High School. I need to say this strongly: please never do this ever again. "Unsourced" information can be removed at will by other editors, so somebody can just say "Hey Doctor! It's unsourced, you can't put it in". It doesn't matter if somebody is a local who "knows" the truth. Your job is to show proof to non-locals that such is the case. For school zoning, you need maps. You need the URLs to the maps (of both Prince George's school zoning boundaries AND of U.S. Census Bureau CDP maps and/or municipal boundary maps) to prove to non-locals which communities the school serves.
