Response from EllaCyclone: Oh i'm sorry I froget put link to NHC advisory as source

Ex- & extratropical

It seems that you don’t understand the difference between ex- and extratropical. Alcide, for example, has weakened to a tropical depression. That is why it is called Ex-Alcide as it is below the intensity for a named storm. I think you won’t like to call an ex-girlfriend or ex-boyfriend as an extratropical girlfriend or extratropical boyfriend.-- 🐱💬 13:19, 11 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Meow. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to 2019 Pacific typhoon season have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Help Desk. Thanks. 🐱💬 19:30, 18 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Issuance time is not analysis time

It takes time to analyze the intensity and movement of a storm, and then forecast it, so the advisory is issued after the analysis time. Please use the latter, and not the former. Specifically, the JMA issued the advisory at 9:45 UTC, but their advisory's information on the storm itself was as of 9:00 UTC. Please refrain from using the wrong time in the future and let me know if you ahve any questions.--Jasper Deng (talk) 10:01, 20 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The TD on June 26

JMA did issue warnings for that TD on June 26. Please check more facts in the future before providing your research🐱💬 02:42, 15 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Kalmaegi 35kts

I see you reverted me in my edit in regarding this. The JTWC actually had Kalmaegi at 35kts here at 13/11 12z. Thanks. Typhoon2013 (talk) 12:54, 14 November 2019 (UTC) Typhoon2013 12:55, 14 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

07A

Please do not add 07A to the season article. It needs to be treated as an unofficial storm until the IMD declares a depression. That means it does not get its own section and has no mention in the timeline or effects table. It can be listed in an "Other systems" section once the JTWC issues a warning. RSMC Nadi/FMS

Just to let you know, I did take the information upgrading TD 03F to TC Sarai from the FMS. If you had looked at the link, I shared you would have seen "TROPICAL CYCLONE NAMING BULLETIN ISSUED FROM RSMC NADI DEC 261321". Also NOAA is an official warning centre for the basin in the same way that the Solomon Islands Met Service or the Samoa Met Service is, since they issue information for American Samoa. The issue is that the 95 mph in the text is the official measurement until 15z whether we like it or not. NHC translates the SSHWS for knots, mph, and km/h... Even though the 95 is likely an error, it is still the official measurement and thus we must go with it. It is OR to call it a C2 when the official text says otherwise. Also, yes I am aware we use knots, but there simply isnt a measurement with knots to go by on intermediates. NoahTalk 12:28, 14 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Weather: Map Dot & Template/Infobox Colors

Dear project member, This message is being sent out to encourage new ideas and feedback on those proposed in regard to the colors debate for WikiProject Weather. For those who are unaware of what's been happening over the last year, I will give a brief summary. We have been discussing proposed changes to the colors of the dots on tropical cyclone maps and templates and infoboxes across the entire weather project in order to solve issues related to the limited contrast between colors for both normal vision as well as the various types of color blindness (

MOS:ACCESS
). We had partially implemented a proposal earlier this year, however, it was objected to by a number of people and additional issues were presented that made it evident this wasn't the optimal solution. We tried to come up with other solutions to address the issues related to color contrast, however, none of them gained traction and no consensus was generated.

We need your help and I encourage you to propose your own scale and give feedback on those already listed. Keep in mind that we are NOT making a decision on any individual proposal at this time. We are simply allowing people to make proposals and cultivate them given feedback from other project members. Please visit our

project page for additional details. The proposal phase will close no later than December 31st at 23:59 UTC. NoahTalk 03:56, 21 November 2022 (UTC)[reply
