Request reason:

Caught by an open proxy block but this host or IP is not an open proxy. My IP address is 188.86.27.101. I'm at a library, so I assume that's what's happening. Could I have an exception while on this IP with my username?. Samthony (talk) 16:44, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Accept reason:

I have changed the block to not apply to logged-in users. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she|they|xe) 21:19, 3 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm assuming this message is about the David Crouse article. I changed the name because the author is now using a new name, as you can see here and here. In both of these sources, you can also see that they are now using new pronouns and have come out as non-binary. So, why did you revert those changes and label them as spam? Thank you Samthony (talk) 05:24, 16 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Block message:

The IP address that you are currently using has been blocked because it is believed to be used by a peer-to-peer proxy service. These services allow users to change their IP address by proxying their browsing traffic through another user's computer. As with any open or anonymizing proxy or VPN service, these IPs may be blocked from editing Wikipedia.

Request reason:

Caught by an open proxy block but this host or IP is not an open proxy. My IP address is 86.127.229.113. I am not using a VPN or any service to change my IP. I'm in Spain, at home. I haven't installed anything. I checked my antivirus just in case there was something new in there that was changing my IP and it wasn't. I'm not sure how to procede or what to do. This is not an open proxy and nobody else has my wifi password.

EDIT: I just remembered, I have two laptops, and I use both to edit wikipedia. I have a work VPN in the other laptop that I use sometimes, but never while editing wikipedia. Could that be the problem? If I don't use the other laptop again and log out of it would my block be lifted? Samthony (talk) 23:13, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

That might be it, yes. Since softening the block is not an option with a proxy block (as it would defeat the purpose), I will instead also commend

WP:IPECPROXY and its instructions for requesting IP block exemption through email to your attention. — Daniel Case (talk) 07:31, 29 November 2023 (UTC)[reply

Request reason:

My ip address was caught by an open proxy, as it shows on my profile earlier. I tried contacting the Check team via email two weeks ago, I sent another email a week ago and I still have no answer. I don't need to unblock my IP address or something, I just need it to make an exemption for my username, if possible. I don't know what else to do, or who to contact to review this. Samthony (talk) 19:17, 12 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

If you have sent an email to the checkuser team, they will eventually review it. They are volunteers as well and it may not be quick, please be patient. 331dot (talk) 20:38, 12 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
