Image Tagging for Image:WWJD.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:WWJD.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Thanks for uploading Image:Bidet standard.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are
{{TemplateName}}
. If you have not already done so please also include the source of the image; in most cases the website where you found it.
Please signify the copyright information and source on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the

Hello
I was thinking about the former IRC (#wikipedia) channel regulars, and decided to see who was still around. It's good to see you're still here :) Why don't you come on IRC any more? According to NickServ you haven't been on in almost 2 years. - Mark 14:54, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on

Hi Fabiform, I've just seen that you've started the article Charlestown, Cornwall. Do you remember what you've used as a source for your article? Thanks, Ibn Battuta 01:45, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
- I'll just reply here, okay? :o) I've just noticed that I hadn't mentioned the reason for my question, sorry! (Clever me!... but where on earth did I leave the links?... wait... here we go) I've found this page that is vitually identical to the original article from Jan 1, 04 until Oct 22, 04 (afterwards, the Cornish name of the town has been added, which is lacking on this external page).
- So, as you can imagine, I've wondered if you remember whether that page may have been your source... or whether they've simply copied the Wikipedia article. After what you said about local knowledge, probably the latter? Or any other clue? Thanks, Ibn Battuta 19:16, 13 May 2007 (UTC)
- Hi Fabiform, thanks for the clarification! Two thoughts: At least in the German Wikipedia, we sometimes make a note at the top of the discussion page in such cases, stating that the Wikipedia article is in fact the original (so the issue won't have to be raised again) - do you know if that's similar in the English Wikipedia? Or more generally, what's your opinion on it? Second, I don't remember if the English Wikipedia has a page where copyright violations of non-Wikipedians can be posted (as I assume that you didn't allow that other site to copy your text). So... do you even care about that other site, and if so, do you know where to post that information? Thanks again, Ibn Battuta 18:31, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
Non-free use disputed for Image:B&Q company logo.gif
This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:B&Q company logo.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our
I've added several tags to these images. They appear to lack a source and rationale, and appears to be unlikely to be fair use. Megapixie 03:27, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

Unspecified source for Image:Colin_Thatcher.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Colin_Thatcher.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{
