Farsi help needed

Hello Farhikht, I'm contacting you because we need some Farsi translators to help with the deployment of the new VisualEditor on fa.wikipedia. There are help pages, user guides, and description pages that need translating, as well as the interface itself. The translating work is going on over on MediaWiki: Translation Central. I also need help with a personal message for the Farsi Wikipedians. If you are able to help in any way, either reply here, or head over to TranslationCentral. Thanks for your time, PEarley (WMF) (talk) 19:47, 13 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Pat. Thanks for contacting me. I will be happy if I could be helpful on that project. I'll add my name to the list.Farhikht (talk) 20:30, 13 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Very good! There are a few documents that need translating, including this one (User Guide) and this one (Portal). The translate extension lets you do little bits at a time. Would you also be able to translate a short message that I want to post to the fa.wiki? Glad to have you helping out Farhikht, PEarley (WMF) (talk) 21:16, 13 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Pat. For the message, you can send it to me by mail: farhikht[at]gmail.com. Cheers.Farhikht (talk) 21:35, 13 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Message sent to your gmail. (I changed the link above to stop spam-bots!) PEarley (WMF) (talk) 22:35, 14 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I've sent you the translation. Cheers.Farhikht (talk) 11:12, 15 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
My apologies, do you mind re-sending that? I deleted it by accident.--NortyNort (Holla) 23:54, 16 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please Stay Away from Personal Problems

Dear Farhikht, I traced your complains about the writer of the book and I came to this conclusion that it seems you have a big personal problem with him. I checked your contributions on Wiki and noted that you just search his name and delete whatever is produced/written by him. I just searched his name as well on the internet and noted in the filed of music, journalism and Iranian studies he is quite active. Various works by him also have been used by both media and academic circules. Leo71538 has already mentioned some of them.
So When someone's works are available online and they are good enough, there is no problem that we use them on Wiki as well. You regularly just mention his name and do not pay any attention to the work itself! If you find mistakes or problems in them then mention it please. For example in case of Jalil Shahnaz you once removed the reference to the book "Persian Musicians" because it's 'promotional'. Then we should not use any book as our references in Wiki! I read that text. It's a simple text on the artistic career of the maestro and has no promotional goal/content. A lot of Persin-language websites also has quoed from the book when Jalil Shahnaz passed away.
Your contrubutions' history shows that you have also removed the refrences related to this book in the followsing pages:
PARVIZ MAHMOUD(composer)
HOSSEIN NASSEHI (composer)
SYMPHONISCHE DICHTUNGEN AUS PERSIEN (LP disc), for this entry you have not provided any reference either and we can not use AMAZON as a reference!
etc.
And recently you have nominated the page for his documentary film
Hayedeh Legendary Persian Diva ! HELLO ! What is going on?! Let's respect those who are productive in such fields and pay attention to the content of their work. Stay away from personal issues please. Thank you. --Khafesho (talk) 19:25, 21 July 2013 (UTC)[reply

Luri and Persian

Hello again, Farhikht. This may be a bit of a long shot, but do you happen to know the answer to Chitooribah's question at User talk:Future Perfect at Sunrise#Luri and Persian? Thanks, – Quadell (talk) 12:11, 23 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Request

Thanks for you edits on Siah Bishe Pumped Storage Power Plant. I was working on another dam article in Iran, Sardasht Dam, and this PDF appears to have a treasure trove of information in it but I cannot translate it. Could you help? Thanks--NortyNort (Holla) 21:35, 29 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi NortyNort. I saw some of your contributions and sincerely I appreciate it. I know that it's not at all easy to find good sources for this field specially when it's about Iran. About this article, I will do all what I can do but the problem is that I know nothing about dams, energy, etc. I saw this PDF file. The article is about the environmental impact of Sardasht Dam before construction (the article has been written on 2004) but it doesn't give information about the dam itself.
By the way, are you sure that this dam is located in the West Azarbaijan and not in the
Khuzestan Province? Your PDF file suggests that it's located around Karanj, Dezful. I will do more search on this.Farhikht (talk) 11:05, 30 July 2013 (UTC)[reply
]
That doesn't sound right. Other sources put it in West Azerbaijan. Maybe this one is different? On the top of the third page of the PDF there is a small chart which looks like it has specifications. That might help match it up. Thanks for the help.--NortyNort (Holla) 19:34, 30 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You are right about the location of the dam. But this PDF is about another dam in Khuzestan Province. I try to find some sources for the article.Farhikht (talk) 08:15, 31 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The dam that really needs a Wikipedia entry is the Zayandeh Rud dam. Perhaps the most politically and socially impactful dam in Iran, though you'd never know that from the "Zayanderud" and "Chadegan" entries in Wiki. Romillyh (talk) 15:43, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please Clear it up for me

Hello . Lately , I'd created a page that named Farshid Haidari and It'd been deleted due to there were no sources , then I recreated it and added sources as well, but unfortunately the aforementioned article had been deleted again . . . and do me a favor and clear it up , meanwhile I noticed that you'd said that " I've found nothing about the subject in Persian . . . " Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Farshid_Haidari well if you check the sources( Magazine such as Razm Avar the 1st and most well-known martial arts journal ) then I'm pretty sure you'll figure it out . Thanks in advance . " Bedroud " — Preceding unsigned comment added by IMTheAdrenaline (talkcontribs) 23:44, 7 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Those deleted election polls again

Hi Farhikht, I believe you were one of those who disapproved of the Wikipedia page of internal opinion polls that someone was posting back in May/June before it was removed some days before the Presidential and municipal elections. I would like if possible to contact whoever ran this page to ask if he/she has any archived copies. The reason is that, once obviously partisan polls were removed, the remainder showed a reasonably consistent pattern that predicted the outcome of the Pres election fairly accurately from early June, particularly the order of candidates. A couple of people I'm in contact with have been working on how the campaign shaped up, but now the only poll of note is the IPOS poll, which was small-sample, also gave no indication how its sample was chosen, and did not pick up these trends until very late. Thus these deleted Iranian polls, however flawed they may be alleged to have been, could turn out to be useful in reconstructing how the candidates fared after the beginning of June. Currently Iran commentators' narratives largely tend to follow the line that Rouhani was running around mid-field until very late, with the IPOS poll often cited as evidence. Events on the ground (in Iran) suggest that this is unlikely to have been true. Many thanks, Romillyh (talk) 16:25, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Akram Pedramnia

Hello Farhikht, If you have time, do you mind looking at Akram Pedramnia that you nominated for deletion years back (Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Akram Pedramnia)? The article has some sources, but most of them aren't in English. Best GSS (talk|c|em) 11:30, 16 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you GSS for notifying me. The article is promotional, I think and it's clear to me that the creator is herself or someone close to her (because of this part of the article). In fact, she translated Lolita and created a little buzz at the time but I'm not sure that she is notable. What do you think? Farhikht (talk) 16:33, 17 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
