Hi, please don't break harv links when updating citations. This edit broke the downlink from the footnote to the full citation because you combined the last and first names into a single 'editor' parameter. Harvard links require that the last name and first name be given as discrete values (or the ref field be explicitly set; n/a here). I've fixed it. I saw you reviewing the article here. I have a minor doubt, would be great if you just help me in it. The file File:Vtvfilm.jpg actually is a screenshot of a scene from the film. The main problem with the image is that it and File:A different love story.jpg don't seem necessary, simply decorative. You make three fair-use claims for images in the article. I think one can be justified but not three. The lead image in the infobox is the best, and the other two add nothing that can't be explained in the text alone. Re: Blue Book. I know that's the rule, and I zealously remove duplicates of city websites from el sections since they're in the infobox, but at some point for uniformity's sake I hope to make sure all 200+ cities have a Blue Book link. They're not all that useful on their own (we should link/reference directly the pages linked at the BB from whatever the state's economic development agency is called these days--that info is handy), but I like the idea of the uniformity. Some were removed for weird reasons (unlike your removal), and some were never there in the first place. Would it be a horrible breach of

What makes a copyeditor?

I have a question of a rather delicate nature to ask you, since you're one of the best copyeditors (or if you prefer, copy editors) I know. I've noticed well-meaning people try to copyedit something and remove the {{

copyedit
}} tag, perhaps because of a drive put on by the guild of copyeditors or some such, and...uh...well...in my humble opinion, they're just not very good at it.

It's a good problem to have, the problem of people who want to copyedit, because speaking for myself, I'm certainly too lazy to do more than tag articles most of the time, but has this been addressed anywhere? If one had to be qualified at a professional level, we'd never get any editing done around here, but it kind of bums me out. Is there a copyeditors' school to which I could point people? Pringle Creek (Willamette River)

Went exploring from the mouth to about the "e" in Pringle today. This map (which you've already cited) is the best we've found so far. I'll upload the pics (good, bad, ugly) soon hopefully. P.S. Looks like Pringle feeds Walling Pond and possibly Stone Quarry Lake/Webb Lake (fancy private lake name for old gravel pit). Also note Pringle Creek Community on the grounds of the former Fairview. At some point I'd like to expand upon PCC within the Fairview article--they are reusing some of the old Fairview infrastructure. They plan to do some creekside restoration. Sounds good. I've enjoyed hiking, biking, and otherwise exploring the Portland-area streams I've written about. The course descriptions in the 2002 Pringle Creek document I cited are more complete than my summary. They mention specific places where the streams go underground, then resurface, split, and merge. It made my eyes twirl. Please add anything you like. I have no ownerish feelings about this article, and I know zilch about Salem history, parks, subdivisions, or conservation/restoration efforts. Tichborne case

If you have a spare moment or two, you might like to look at this offbeat effort which deals with a rather curious legal case of c.140 years ago. Well outside my general orbit, currently under peer review. Do let me know if I can return review favours for you.

Briefly commenting on your earlier correspondent's concerns about copyediting, I agree that most of what passes for ce on Wikipedia is pretty low quality. I don't believe the grandly-named "Guild of Copyeditors" can do much to solve the problem. The ability to craft prose to a professional standard is a skill normally honed over many years that can't, alas, be picked up on the basis of a few tips. Another begging request I'm afraid! Arthur Mold is currently at PR here, and I've had a "cricket review" so to speak, and was hoping you could take a look from a non-cricketer's viewpoint. By my standards, it is extremely short, but involves something of a cricket technicality. I'm not sure how well I've explained the intricacies, or indeed if the intricacies can be explained to someone who is not overly familiar with cricket. If you have neither the time nor inclination, that is not a problem at all as I have most likely exhausted any cricket enthusiasm you may ever have possessed! However, it did not pass FAC because of copyright violations and plagiarism spotted by other reviewers. Although I fixed a few minor problems in the article just now, I'd rather work on other things than to check Spokane, Washington, carefully for copyvios. Hi. This is something I'd normally be interested in, but I've been having eye trouble. My recent edits have been few, partly because it's less fun editing with only one good eye. As it happens, I have an eye surgery scheduled less than 48 hours from now, and it will probably fix the problem. Alas, it won't fix it immediately. Things will still be murky in that eye for a week or so, I'm told, and I may not get back to what I would consider normal for a month or so. Farrandsville pictures

When I took the pictures of the Farrandsville furnace it was dusk and pretty dark-most of the pictures were blurred as I had no tripod along (I took the one used by bracing the camera on the fence). I did get one of the furnace and house next to it and a slightly blurry one of the township municipal building in Farrandsville. Hope they are of some use. Farrandsville is in a narrow valley, so there is not much of a skyline -we missed the furnace altogether first time there. Please see

Glad you like the furnace pic so much. I looked at the DCNR CCC archive and Leetonia had a CCC camp from 1933 to 1941 - see here Ruhrfisch ><>°° 04:17, 6 October 2012 (UTC)
De nada - I like the Leetonia "skyline". I have a pic with the same houses, but not as good an angle. I am pretty sure that Owlett's Seasons Along The Tiadaghton: An Environmental History of the Pine Creek Gorge has some information on Leetonia. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 01:57, 7 October 2012 (UTC)
