Please note, on this one I more or less agree with the original reviewer's assessment that it didn't have sufficient sourcing to meet Wikipedia's standards. But, by searching on the Internet Archive, I was able to find a mention in a book about Black cinema, so I added that and I think that's enough. -Pete Forsyth (talk) 17:37, 4 November 2021 (UTC)

Hi! I came upon some info about Marr, and realized there was no article. I subsequently found and updated your draft. Assume you wouldn't mind her being in mainspace, but please let me know if you'd like me to revert. It still needs expansion, but I believe she's clearly notable. Star Mississippi 17:03, 5 November 2021 (UTC)

Awesome User:Star Mississippi. The work of Draft:DeeDee Baldwin might interest you. I don't think she meets Wikipedia notability standards yet but she's done amazing work.
I wasn't sure how to fix "published on the work of the United Stations" because I can't access the cited sources. United States? More likely United Nations.
If someone is kind enough to add the appropriate project links to the talk page I will add a photo request.
I also think the life and death of
Draft:Stella Mason
is an important albeit tragic subject. Not Mississippi related though. Do you know anyone who might be interested in helping with it?

FloridaArmy (talk) 17:17, 5 November 2021 (UTC)

Fixed, thanks for flagging. You beat me to the talkpage, I think. If not, let me know what I need to do for you to add a photo request. I'm not super familiar with images and what's needed for tags there. Will look at Mason, Baldwin and see if they're something I'm able to work on as I have time. Thanks for flagging those. ETA: did some work on Baldwin too. Not sure she's there yet, and part of me wonders if she shouldn't be part of an article on the legislators project. Thoughts? FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 16:52, 13 November 2021 (UTC)

I was hoping to encourage you...

...though perhaps not quite in the way you expect.

You probably remember the ANI stipulation that says "The community restricts FloridaArmy to no more than 20 pending Articles for Creation submissions at any time." The thing I wish to encourage you to do is to adhere to that limit more closely.

I'm aware that you are hugely creative. I like your creativity. I am just hoping that you can concentrate even more on quality (I see that increasing anyway) and less on quantity.

I wish the previous stipulation that directs you to not create or move directly to mainspace were revoked. Perhaps you might work on that. It would be to everyone's benefit, with Wikipedia the main beneficiary FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 14:57, 1 November 2021 (UTC)

As you can see here, you are somewhat above the 20 restriction. What I don't want to happen is for anyone to get upset about this. I include you in that! I want you to be able to continue to be as creative as you are, albeit with a smaller stream of drafts. FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 15:05, 1 November 2021 (UTC)
I will take a break. FloridaArmy (talk) 15:33, 1 November 2021 (UTC)
I think you have earned it. FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 16:15, 1 November 2021 (UTC)
I would like to applaud you for continuing to allow the number of your AFC submissions to fall. Thank you. I know this is annoying and limiting for you. I value your contributions, especially in areas such as notable African Americans, and wish you to continue for a long time. FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 12:13, 9 November 2021 (UTC)
Good call asking at the African Diaspora project. As you can see, I've also accepted a good few. You are down to 24 just now. Don't turn the tap on just yet. We need to rehabilitate your reputation so you can, should you choose, have a successful appeal to being constrained to AFC. If you appeal please make sure I know, because you will have my support FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 17:01, 13 November 2021 (UTC)

It's worth pointing out that many of those submissions are elected state legislators who clearly meet Wikipedia inclusion criteria. People like Moses Martin (Currently a redirect to musician Chris Martin#Personal life where I don't see any.mwntion of a Moses Martin. Did they divorce? One of their children???), one of the last African Americans to serve in the South Carolina legislature for mamy decades until the civil rights era.

This prohibition also stops me from submitting an entry for Frank B. Butler, a businesan from Lincolnville with a park named after him and an unincorporated communoty that bears his name but that until today didn't even mention him despite his owning the land and establishing a beach area open to African Americans that was the only one open to them between Jacksonville and Daytona Beach according to the Tampa Bay Times. There are also entries on some of the historians who wrote about these individuals and related subjects.

I think it's ugly that it remains so difficult to update Wikipedia to include African Americans and their axcomplishments. I don't think I'm going too fast. I think we have gone about it frustratingly, agonizingly, abusively, and disgracefully slowly.

When do you think it would be okay for me to add another submission on an African American state legislator that Wikipedia has failed to include for the last 15 or so years? FloridaArmy (talk) 23:44, 1 November 2021 (UTC)

I think you need to look with care at the restrictions placed upon you and the number of drafts you have in progress. The only way around that is to appeal it, but it would be far better to appeal the prior set of restrictions that require you to use AFC. That requires that you prove reliable quality, in my view. There will come a point when someone will notice the excess drafts in a formal manner. That is an observation based on the frequency with which your drafts are mentioned, and by no means a threat. I want to see you more productive (quality not quantity) not hamstrung.
I hope you do not interpret my words to you as having anything whatsoever to do with being in any way against African American drafts. I know it's a topic you favour and I welcome that. I review your work when I meet it and feel competent to do so. I run it against Wikipedia policy and am only casually interested in the content.
I am unable to comment on your assertion of the difficulty of adding that information FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 00:03, 2 November 2021 (UTC)
Please point me to where I appeal the restriction prohibitting me from submitting addition articles such as those noted above. Nothing I love more than wasting a bunch of time on the drama boards. Let's see how much time we can spend arguing instead of including historic African Americans and other notable subjects long ommitted from Wikipedia. FloridaArmy (talk) 00:10, 2 November 2021 (UTC)
Please do not display hostility towards me, it is unwanted and unwarranted.
I imagine the appeal process is at the same place the restrictions were created. FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 00:13, 2 November 2021 (UTC)

Yes, I've seen this draft. I had thought it was included in Whitburn's chart re-creations, but he doesn't include it, unfortunately. I think it was a bigger hit than Whitburn estimated, because there was a 'part 2' recorded by Weems. It was also recorded by the Hoosier Hot Shots not reliable source, but it can be sourced to the record label and catalog #, Chick Bullock [2], Jim Lowe not reliable source, again can be sourced to the disc itself. I would think that meets NSONG#3. 78.26 (spin me / revolutions) 16:27, 14 November 2021 (UTC)

You are almost there

You've nearly cracked it! 21! see here. Great job.

I still think you need to work out how to get the restriction only to use AFC lifted. A suggestion is to stick religious to 20 submissions for a few months and then ask. This does mean at least that you will ideally only submit the drafts that absolutely will get accepted, so that will give you a great track record.

I've detested this restriction since I first saw it. I know you know which are great candidates for acceptance and which are the wrong side of the borderline, so I'm pretty sure you'll be able to make a track record based case for lifting it. I restored the draft, because I there's another ref. in the Kathryn Hall Bogle article that you could use here. And because I think we need to find refs for the role of trade schools, especially business and secretarial colleges, in the first half of the 20th cetury--it's an undercovered topic here, and getting somewhere with these should in turn help our coverage of people from the socioeconomic backgrounds who were likely to attned them.
