I was attempting to get a link to Paul Johnson's Facebook post (George's son) where he states his father has not died and went to add it when the revision had been changed.

Please see second post on page by Gary Lee Hull and in the comments, Paul Johnson states the following: "You guys are all great. When dad truly passes, which is imminent, I'll post it on my page, & if you all repost it on your page, word will get out & it will be official, rather than rumor or misunderstanding. He was supposed to pass yesterday, but he's a tough bird & has a strong will to live, even when it's hopeless. My sincere thank you for the incredible outpouring of affection mom & I have received, from the rich & powerful, some well-known personalities, and from the most humble people who were touched by his intelligence & attention. He remembered his roots & treated everyone without presumption. He grew up in the depression, when almost everyone was in the same boat & he remembered he was part of one large family & he treasured each one of you. I will post, when the time comes. Peace"

I am friends with the Johnson family and have been trying to get this rectified with the erroneous reports as well.

I've given up. If a post from his son doesn't convince you nothing will. Deadline and Variety picked it up from social media that he had died when all the family released was "He is terminal and does not have long." The son has posted today that George is still alive, but because so many people on social media started stating he was dead, Deadline and Variety parroted it without checking with the family. But all this will become clear when he does pass and it will all ultimately end up being corrected one way or another.
