Hello there, a proposal regarding pre-adminship review has been raised at Village pump by Anna Frodesiak. Your comments

The article Las Vegas (board game) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unreferenced and nothing to indicate notability. A link to BoardGameGeek does not establish notability as that site is a listing of every game ever and not the kind of in depth coverage from a secondary reliable source needed to establish notability.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be

deleted for any of several reasons
.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Disambiguation link notification for June 10

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of Viz comic strips, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Carlisle and Sherpa (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Unix Question

It appears that the IP address that reverted your post is a sock-puppet of a banned or blocked user and was interfering with the efforts of real Reference Desk editors to discuss Unix. The IP has since been blocked. Robert McClenon (talk) 20:19, 10 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

T. Aao - an Olympian listed at Redirects for discussion

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect T. Aao - an Olympian. Since you had some involvement with the T. Aao - an Olympian redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. Psychonaut (talk) 09:09, 13 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thanks for notifying me. I had entirely forgotten about this redirect, made almost a decade ago. It was only because the original creator had used an implausible article title and I moved it to a more sensible one. I have closed the discussion as speedy delete. "Unfounded personal attacks."

Cool story, bro. But what attacks are you talking about?

Blum betrayed his country and people by converting to the Mahometan heresy.

Converting to Islam is not "betraying one's country and people". I will not discuss this further. Any further such comments by you will be reverted. JIP | Talk 20:47, 28 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Looks to me like a (range)block is required, as evident in the Danny Blum article as well repeated personal attacks at User talk:Albatalad and here too of course. See User talk:80.42.128.210 where I had already posted a final warning. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 21:17, 28 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Ten-million pool

Just because I'm curious, what is the basis for your regular updates at Wikipedia:Ten-million pool? Thanks,  SchreiberBike | ⌨  05:43, 8 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

What do you mean, why am I doing it so often or how do I calculate my predictions? JIP | Talk 17:25, 8 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I wondered both. I imagine you want to keep your algorithm secret, so I don't want to pry.  SchreiberBike | ⌨  18:05, 8 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Well, for the first question, it's because I like doing things with numbers, and it's a nice pastime. I don't want to do it every day because it would be too often. For the second question, the algorithm is not really that complicated. It's based on a linear approximation calculated from how much time Wikipedia took to gain two million articles in the past, and then comparing that to how much time it has taken since then. It isn't very accurate - according to it, Wikipedia should have reached 5 million last December, but we're not even at 4.9 million yet. JIP | Talk 18:09, 8 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I was once a numbers person myself and I still appreciate their pleasure. Predictions are hard but fun.  SchreiberBike | ⌨  18:55, 8 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

First Air

I just made some changes to First Air on the Finnish Wikipedia. I ran into a couple of problems. I wasn't sure what the correct names for the Norman Wells, Arctic Bay and Kimmirut airports should be. Also the line "First Airin laivasto koostuu seuraavista lentokoneista (päivitetty: maaliskuussa 2009):" should be updated to be for April 2015 but I wasn't sure that huhtikuu would be correct. Are the dates in the references dd-mm-year? If so they need updating to 11-04-2015. Thanks. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 08:39, 11 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The page seems to use genitives for the airport names in Finnish. The above would therefore be Norman Wellsin lentoasema, Arctic Bayn lentoasema and Kimmirutin lentoasema. Huhtikuu is indeed Finnish for "April" so it would read (päivitetty: huhtikuussa 2015). The dates in the references seem to be indeed dd-mm-year. That's the way Finns write their dates. JIP | Talk 10:43, 11 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Great. Thanks very much. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 01:33, 12 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
