Hi J Beake,

I am sorry to have to bring this up, but it seems that there are some copyright problems with some or all of the expansions you made to the articles Anglo-Saxon settlement of Britain (in January 2014) and Anglo-Saxons (in February 2015).

In each case, it appears that whole sentences (including references) have been added verbatim from source texts. An example is given at Talk:Anglo-Saxon_settlement_of_Britain/Archive_2#Plagiarism (posted in May 2014), and there are more at Talk:Anglo-Saxons#Social_differentiation.

This is something we really cannot do, as the templated standard message that follows discusses.

I would very much appreciate it if you could re-write the content in your own words, or offer a plan to do so, otherwise, on the face of it, it will all have to be removed, which would be a shame.

Here's the standard advisory message:

Control copyright icon Hello J Beake! While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, it's important to understand and adhere to guidelines about using information from sources to prevent copyright and plagiarism issues. Here are the key points:

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices. Persistent failure to comply may result in being blocked from editing. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you.

(Standard message ends)

I am sorry to have to raise this, but I hope we can work it out.

Best regards, Jheald (talk) 11:13, 26 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Problems with "Anglo-Saxon Settlement of Britain" Article

Dear J Beake, I have brought up several problems in the

Anglo-Saxon Settlement of Britain article, an article of which you added the majority of content. These problems I have discussed in the Talk:Anglo-Saxon settlement of Britain

Sincerely, Gordon410 Gordon410 (talk) 20:30, 26 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
