Thanks for your excellent contributions to this article! You've been around a while, so you know that since Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, it's important that we provide

reliable sources for all the information it provides. I assume you got your information on Slats from a book or a website, so I have marked the sections that really should be cited. Please let me know if I can help. Thanks, and thanks again for adding the information!! --Esprqii (talk) 16:43, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply

Thanks, that's a great source, and welcome to the project!
Since you seem to be interested in adding OSU information, take a look at this page: Wikipedia:WikiProject_Oregon/Sports for a list of OSU football players in the Oregon Sports Hall of Fame who don't have articles yet. It would be great to get those knocked out. --Esprqii (talk) 19:06, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

FYI, I nominated your Percy Locey article to appear on the Wikipedia front page under the Did You Know? section. Hopefully it will be selected. Feel free to self-nominate other articles you create, but read the guidelines on article length and so forth. It's fun for you to see your article on the front page, and it's good publicity for the Oregon project. --Esprqii (talk) 00:16, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, once again good job creating OSU related articles. I had a question though- The OSU media guide lists him on the "year by year results" section as "Guy Kenney", not "Guy Kennedy". On the secton to the right of that, however, they do indeed list him as Guy Kennedy. That is why I made the coaches template have his name spelled that way. Any idea if that is just a typo, and "Kennedy" is right, or did you just guess that that was the right spelling over the two options? VegaDark (talk) 03:07, 7 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, upon further review it lists him as Gary Kennedy on the right side initially, the right below that lists him as Guy Kennedy. so there are 3 possible name combinations that could be right based on the media guide as a source. In the book "Oregon State Football" by Kip Carlson, it lists his name as Guy Kenney, but he may have just made the same mistake I did. Any sources you know of that give weight to any particular spelling over the others? VegaDark (talk) 03:16, 7 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm...Since there is no real way to know which is correct at the moment, I will add a note to their pages about the names possibly being different. Creating redirects from the other names is probably a good idea as well. VegaDark (talk) 04:04, 7 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm curious about Tommy Cade/Code. Do any of your sources indicate where he attended college or played football? One of the VERY early Stanford quarterbacks (before QB was the position it is today) is listed as "Tommy Code" but I bet this is the same guy. Let me know if you can uncover anything on this. Great work on these articles. --Esprqii (talk) 18:49, 7 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

New Year COTW from
WP:ORE

Happy New Year to all the

Oregon WikiProject People. A big round of applause for everyone last year, we got a lot done. A thank you to everyone who helped with the last Collaboration of the Week, I saw a large number of articles in the unassessed section and our total number of articles is over 5000 (we were around 4000 in June when the assessment program finished the initial run) so I know at one person was busy tagging. This week we are back to a High importance Stub article the one and only max security prison, first prison, and only one with a death row in the state, the Oregon State Penitentiary. Then, by request we have one of the most prolific ballot measure sponsors in Mr. Bill Sizemore. Once again, to opt out or suggest future collaborative efforts, click here. McFadden

I noticed you completed creating pages for all the remaining OSU head football coaches, except for McFadden (who is currently not linked on the coaches template). I made it unlinked because the OSU media guide doesn't list a first name for him, so I didn't know what page to link it to. We could try and do some research to find what his full name was, but if that fails another option would be to simply create a page called McFadden (football coach) and explain in the article that his full name is unknown. If it is ever discovered, the page can be moved to that name. VegaDark (talk) 20:29, 10 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oregon GA COTW

Howdy to

On another note, just a general good job/pat on the back to the project for a great 2007, the first full year of the project. We had 83 DYKs about Oregon, improved one article to FA, and went from around 4 GAs to 17 GAs. Plus numerous new articles, improvements to existing, the introduction of the COTW, and the introduction of article assessment at the project. Again, great job and here’s to a new year. AfD nomination of Internet Superstar

I have nominated Internet Superstar, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Internet Superstar. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Hi there, I'm sorry to have 'tagged a regular', but I don't check editors' credentials before I submit and AfD: I have to go on the article I see in front of me. I'm afraid I don't see how a podcast less than a week into its first airing can be notable, and you didn't cite any independent sources to show that it is. Of course if you can cite them, I'll happily withdraw the AfD. best wishes - Kim Dent-Brown (Talk) 23:23, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Three articles passed GA after being listed at COTW
  • Probably around 25 articles started
  • Almost all Top importance articles are now better than Stub class
