Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to

exasperation

I just posted reply to another editor on my user page that may be the end of trying to contribute -- sorry Michael P. Barnett (talk) 04:30, 4 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

day after

Thanks for your encouragement. My user discussion just got branched to the extent I thought it least confusing to reply here. In view of Johnuniq's reply there, I am following it with a low key explanation of concerns concerning WP verifiability -- NOT opposing it, but asking how it can be strengthened. I will email the Crystal Growth society and journal people about putting the Bill Bardsley piece somewhere more formal. If I set up a recollections site it would be supplementary -- I will not give up the WP role -- only mentions of Malvern / RRE non substantive -- and I would let you know. I am concentrating on Coulson and Wilkins articles now. Michael P. Barnett (talk) 21:57, 4 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hetepheres I

I will give my comments and thoughts on the Hetepheres talkpage. I agree with the comment about "hotly debated" issues. Seems a bit much and could be expressed better. Including Reisner's report sounds good. But giving some weight to more modern scholarship is the way to go I think. --AnnekeBart (talk) 00:05, 19 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I made some changes in the article and added more references.--AnnekeBart (talk) 01:04, 19 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

TRE history

I put a substantive paragraph and a meta-paragraph in the TRE Discussion page as result of chance observation of Reg Jones book in public library. I have a couple of articles with higher priority for me than the dog work on what RRE people did, and these have been put into temporary limbo by hair splitting wiki-legalisms, and the "people cannot be mentioned unless they are wikipedia notable gambit". Was the construction of the Gunn biography an atypically happy WP experience? I will look on my user page for comment Michael P. Barnett (talk) 21:54, 27 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have no idea if this is typical, as it is the first one I have made a major contribution to (others have been small points).

I suspect it has a lot to do with how many different people have a sense of "ownership" of the subject/article.

It will be interesting to see what happens as a result of Gyromagician's request for formal review. Jpg1954 (talk) 01:51, 28 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I just put material into

RRE for merger. Having a rough time with other articles. Michael P. Barnett (talk) 02:07, 5 February 2011 (UTC)[reply

Hi Jpg1954. I just want you to be sure that I know nothing about the above link and who posted it. It geolocates to New Jersey and it may have been sent in good faith as it seems to have been sent to a number of editors who have worked on the same articles asyou and I have. My RfA isn't going as well as expected, but in the light of the unsigned canvassing, it's probably best you stay away from it. Regards, --Kudpung (talk) 08:15, 26 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Interesting. I assumed it was some sort of normal notification process. The "unsigned" did not register as a red flag. Good luck.Jpg1954 (talk) 23:01, 26 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ridley–Watkins–Hilsum theory and Gunn effect articles

Will try to follow up on Wednesday. Michael P. Barnett (talk) 20:35, 30 May 2011 (UTC) If you could email me, it would make it very much easier for me to help get authoritative closure on these. I can be tracked down very easily. Michael P. Barnett (talk) 21:16, 30 May 2011 (UTC) Done Jpg1954 (talk) 21:22, 30 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Colwich church name

Many thanks - yes, you're right, it should be St. Michael and All Angels and I have amended the articles accordingly.
